  • Entrepreneurial Leadership
    2015/06/05
Has Leadership gone to the dogs? Perhaps the truest litmus test of practical leadership is the realm of the entrepreneur. All successful entrepreneurs must exhibit an acute sense of leadership across the many roles of a business. From sales and human resources to logistics and accounting, the entrepreneur either does it all and/or is responsible for others taking on those tasks. Our guest, Alice Lerman is an example of a successful retail entrepreneur in the competitive pet supply arena. Alice will share with us how she not only leads her team but also share with us some of the pitfalls and setbacks she experienced and that has made her stronger today.

    2015/05/29
With all of the 'tried and true' attributes of leadership, creative seems to be always left out. The net result: a more creative you and one that can truly think of and develop new ideas and perspectives.

  • Taking Off for Better Leadership: The Aviator's Perspective
    2015/05/15
Aviation provides the perfect metaphor for life and its changes. There is the constant and continuous cycle of learning and training as well as adapting to the changes within the environment. Our guest, Wes Kautzmann, a certified flight instructor and aviation entrepreneur will provide more of the aviator's perspective through understanding Pilot in Command, DECIDE (Detect, Estimate, Choose, Identify, Do, Evaluate), 3P (Perceive, Process, Perform) and OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) and how they apply not only to better aviation decision making but to better overall decision making. After all, whether in aviation or in life, we fly the weather we find, not necessarily the weather we planned. Success in both is determined by how we detect and react to changes, both planned and unplanned.
