When anyone can start a business (when everyone is running their career like a business), it begs a question. This is your one chance at life, you can have anything you want, what is worth doing? Most people don't know why they're doing what they're doing. They imitate others, go with the flow, and follow paths without making their own. They spend decades in pursuit of something that someone convinced them they should want, without realizing that it won't make them happy. Anything You Want is a manifesto about living life, appreciating enough, and doing what matters.

For years, we’ve been told that being more healthy and productive is a matter of willpower: that we should follow the latest fad and make constant changes to our lifestyles. But whether in our diets, fitness plans or jobs, radical overhauls never work. Instead we should start with quick wins - and embed new, tiny habits into our everyday routines.

あらすじ・解説
A five-time Moth GrandSLAM winner and bestselling novelist shows how to tell a great story - and why doing so matters.
Whether we realize it or not, we are always telling stories. On a first date or job interview, at a sales presentation or therapy appointment, with family or friends, we are constantly narrating events and interpreting emotions and actions. In this compelling book, storyteller extraordinaire Matthew Dicks presents wonderfully straightforward and engaging tips and techniques for constructing, telling, and polishing stories that will hold the attention of your audience (no matter how big or small). He shows that anyone can learn to be an appealing storyteller, that everyone has something “storyworthy” to express, and, perhaps most important, that the act of creating and telling a tale is a powerful way of understanding and enhancing your own life.

This book leapt into my top 5
I've been listening to Audible books since 2015, and this is one of the most phenomenal books I've read.
Here's a short review: Don't wonder if you should get the book. Get the book.

Thought provoking
Best thing I can say is this, it's makes you want to be a storyteller. His belief that if you are in front of people and not engaging them, then you are stealing their time, is thought provoking.

not many tips on how to deliver a good story
The author spends most of the book telling stories about himself, which in my opinion are not the greatest stories. he gives some tips on how to tell a good story, but that's just a very small part of the content. I stopped listening around chapter seven as I didn't find the content to be that great

Okay, that was good gotcha!
I seen Dan Kennedy’s name thinking it’s the Marketer Dan Kennedy and was surprise it was someone else in the writing space with that name.
The book is awesome and most of the stories that was told was awesome, I will have to go back to this book every six months or until I feel like I have this stuff down cold.
While, I’m not a writer I do blogging, and want to tell better stories in my copy.
The main thing I like about this book is its simple to understand their is no 67 steps or check list-
It’s just a clean cut direct path to here’s how to tell better stories and here’s the emotions you want to hit.
Like I said it was a good gotcha, I really enjoyed the book.
The only part I didn’t like or had to listen to again is when you was talking about the word “And” for what ever reason that threw me for a loop.
Oh, and some of the words you used made me smile because you used big words when it’s simpler easier words that’s more common place that the reader would have understood better.
Good job, I would definitely grab your next book.
Hint Hint...

his voice gave me a massive headache
I have no clue why, but for whatever reason, the preview clip didn't feel annoying, yet at a certain point, early in the book I realize that the guy's voice felt very scratchy and sharp and listening to it just gave me a headache. Deciding to return for this reason, voice definitely not a match for me!

There are better books On Story then this
5 second portion was the only real take away. Maybe homework for life, but I cannot not see myself revisiting or endorsing this book, so it's a return for me. There are a lot of stories and you can tell the authors a good guy, who's trying to help. Great business model, but I didn't actually get or learn much after spending 8 hours with him. Here's the thing, telling stories is a huge to my business. I wanted to like it, but cannot. You want the real low down in less time? Get "Stories That Stick" instead and invest your credit elsewhere. If you are going to do a moth slam or contest, sure, but if you're just telling stories to friends, or for business Stories That Stick hands down. YMMV

Incredible!
This book was life changing for me! So much wisdom and helpful information. Truly one of the best books on storytelling I've ever read/listened to. I bought both the ebook and audiobook because it's that good! The author is funny, so the book is entertaining as well as informative. I could see "Storyworthy" being used in a course on communication. A must read for anyone who functions in the real world or wants to speak from the stage!

Could have and should have been shorter
It’s a good book, with really valuable tips and advice. However, this should have been about half the length it is.

Not what I expected.
The audiobook started out nicely with the foreword by Dan Kennedy. However as soon as main author starts speaking I could't concentrate. I found his voice very difficult to listen to, but despite that I gave it some time to see if I just had to get used to it. Quickly did I also find that this is mostly just a guy telling stories about himself. Not at all what I purchased the book for.

It's rare to come across a book so rewarding
Stories and storytelling matter to me a lot. I'm a public speaker and presenter, so I may be a little biased. However, I can barely remember the last time I got so much value from a book that I played it right away straight after.
It's also rare to give a story rating to a non-fiction book but this one deserves it.
I've just downloaded the kindle version too, so I'm going for read number 3 using whispersync and I'll be highlighting and making notes. I've also started homework for life and am already remembering stories and events I haven't thought about in years.
PLEASE do yourself a favour and read this book.

Persist it is worth it.
Takes a while to get going but if you try the homework for life and put the heavy accent aside and focus on his recommendations I think we will all tell better stories. I will need to listen again and some cheat sheets would help.

Self indulgent
Nothing on how to craft a story at all. Only the authors story and not very well crafted at all - quite boring
