Generalists often find their path late, and they juggle many interests rather than focusing on one. They’re also more creative, more agile, and able to make connections their more specialized peers can’t see.

Everyone knows that timing is everything. But we don't know much about timing itself. Our lives are a never-ending stream of 'when' decisions: when to start a business, schedule a class, get serious about a person. Yet we make those decisions based on intuition and guesswork. Timing, it's often assumed, is an art; in When, Pink shows that timing is, in fact, a science. Drawing on a rich trove of research from psychology, biology and economics, Pink reveals how best to live, work and succeed.

At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking, reading to partying; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over brainstorming in teams. Although they are often labeled "quiet," it is to introverts that we owe many of the great contributions to society--from van Gogh’s sunflowers to the invention of the personal computer.

Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

Good ideas, but.. production poor.
What made the experience of listening to The ONE Thing the most enjoyable?
The narration sounded like he was trying to 'act' his way through an informational book. His intentions were clear; he wants to entertain us, but it detracted from the text, and ultimately annoyed me.
What did you like best about this story?
Simple ideas are usually the best ones.
How could the performance have been better?
Don't separate chapters with music. It's the same musical interlude 24 times. Please don't.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. The book contains valuable wisdom, but the production (narrator, music) annoyed me so much that I had to listen in stages.
Any additional comments?
Any audio book that includes graphics, graphs, figures etc, should come with a warning in the description. I've returned books before simply because I want to learn while listening, and would have bought the hard copy book if I need reference materials. "In figure nine, you'll see a blah blah blah..." This drives me crazy because, no, I DON'T see it.

More than it seems
A lot of people rad recommended this book but I put of getting it for a long time because I assumed the whole idea could be summed up in one sentence. “Do one thing at a time for better focus and success”. That is way to vague to do this book justice. Full of useful gems of information. A must read for anyone running a business or just wanting to be more effective in general.

A re-hash of the original '7 Habits' !
What made the experience of listening to The ONE Thing the most enjoyable?
Well structured.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The ONE Thing?
It focuses on 'one thing'
What about Timothy Miller and Claire Hamilton ’s performance did you like?
Yes. Easy to listen to, although Claire Hamilton's accent is a little too 'Cheesy American' for this Englishman.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Probably not. But possible.
Any additional comments?
This is a rather shameless duplication and re-hash of 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People'. If you have read '7 Habits' then it's an OK revision of the principles, stated slightly differently. If you haven't. forget this and read '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' by Dr Stephen Covey. It is much better.
They refer to several studies and findings from other books on the same subjects, but in the audiobook they don't refer to the studies or credit other authors. Whereas 'The Power of Habit' by Charles Duhigg addresses this subtopic of the power of Habits in much more detail and complete with properly referenced source material.
Perhaps I should nick a bit from all the authors I have read and re-publish it under a catchy name!

5 out 5
Any additional comments?
This is my 5 question system for appraising business and management books. It isn't perfect but it works for me, I hope you find it useful...
Have I incorporated in my business or how I run my business any learnings from this book? Yes.Did feel I wa nted to understand really understand the book in depth, make notes and apply the content? Yes.Is it a book I’ve gone back to in order to check I really get the ideas and concepts so I can apply them? Yes.Is it a book I keep to hand on my mobile, where space is at a premium, so I can re-listen as and when? Yes.Finally, is it a book that has brought insights and moved me forward? Yes.Comments...Stick with it - I found it was literally 2 hrs in before it really got going. I have changed my goal setting system based on insights from this book. The narration is a touch irritating and the "musac" jingle but don't that put you off.

I actually had to stop listening to this 3 chapters in. It's unlistenable. There's not one paragraph in it where "ONE thing" is not stressed. It's repetitive, cheesy and horrible. It's like listening to a long American commercial for ONE thing. Awful.
