On the day of Shawn's first professional baseball game, he reflects on the journey that led to this moment. He recalls the day he, at six years old, his 5-year-old brother, Darnell, and 4-year-old sister, Michelle, were taken from their family. Eight years had passed since they’d last seen their family. Shawn and Darnel embark on a journey to find answers to their lives. Why had they been taken from their family? What happened to their father after the fire? What happened to their mother after they found her unconscious? Were their parents still alive? They needed to take that journey.

Katelyn, who is very health-conscious, enrolls in a health club in a small town that she had recently moved to. While working out at the club, she observes the various clients of the club who come and go and work out there as well. Some of them come with a partner. Some look like they are trying to get in shape after a relationship breakup; others for health reasons. She looks at these people, each one of them representing a part of her past life; the life she thought she was running away from by moving out of a metropolitan area to a small town.
