Episode 11: Why Comparison Is the Thief of Joy

In this episode of Why Mindset Matters, we’re digging into something that silently creeps in and chips away at our peace and our capacity for joy: comparison. It’s the quiet voice that says you should be further along, you shouldn’t still be feeling this way, or someone else has it worse, so what’s your excuse? I know that voice intimately and I know how damaging it can be when we start measuring our grief, healing, or worth against someone else’s highlight reel.

This isn’t just about social media comparison though — it’s about the deep, internal pressure to perform our pain or prove its validity.

I’m unpacking the quiet heartbreak that happens when we compare our healing, our grief, or even our joy to someone else’s. The truth is, comparison doesn’t just rob us of joy; it robs us of presence, peace, and self-compassion.

I talk about what it looks like to fully honour your own path, without apology.

In this conversation, I’m inviting you back to yourself. We talk about why your timeline is sacred, why your emotions are valid, and why choosing self-compassion is the bravest thing you can do. This episode is for anyone who’s ever felt like their pain wasn’t valid enough, their progress too slow, or their joy somehow undeserved. I’ll share how I learned to let go of the pressure to measure up, how gratitude became my anchor, and why your story — just as it is — is 100% valid.

Episode 10: No One Is Coming

In this unapologetic and soul-stirring episode, I’m calling it like it is — NO ONE is coming to save you. Not the partner, the parent, the job, or the fairytale ending. I share the raw truth I've had to face in my own journey through trauma, loss, and rebuilding: We become our own hero the moment we stop outsourcing our worth and start reclaiming our power.

This episode explores themes of self-love, manifesting desires and the importance of embracing Main Character Energy in order to lead a fulfilling life. The conversation encourages listeners to break free from comfort zones, fight for their inner peace, and ultimately choose themselves as the heroes of their own stories.

This episode is a rally cry for anyone who feels stuck, abandoned, or exhausted from waiting on permission or rescue. It’s about radical responsibility, deep self-trust, and learning to hold your own hand through the storm. Together, we’ll explore how to honour your pain without letting it define you — and how choosing yourself, over and over again, is the most heroic thing you can do.

    Episode 9: Main Character Energy

In this episode, I do a dive deep into what it really means to reclaim your Main Character Energy — not the filtered, performative version we see online, but the soul-deep decision to stop living on autopilot and start living with fierce, conscious intention. This kind of energy isn't about ego or attention; it's about remembering who you are underneath the expectations, the heartbreak, and the noise.

I explore what it means to come home to yourself — to become not just the author of your story, but also the producer and director. I talk about what happens when your roles shift, when grief and loss impact your storyline, and how you begin again by honouring your values and choosing growth that’s both gritty and beautiful.

If you’ve ever felt disconnected, like you've been cast in a supporting role in your own life, this one’s for you. Because no matter how many plot twists you have or will face… you still get to take the lead.

    Episode 8: The Kindness Crew

In this episode, I share the beautiful and brave story of my daughters, Mia and Zali, and how they turned heartbreak into hope and connection after the loss of their sister, Rylee to suicide because of bullying.

In the raw aftermath of losing Rylee, the girls chose to respond with courage, creativity, and compassion. I share the tender yet powerful story of how The Kindness Crew came to life — not just as a business, but as a movement rooted in grief, love, and a fierce desire to make the world a gentler place for their souls to reside. What they ended up achieving had a much wider ripple effect than any of us could've anticipated.

I speak about what it meant for them to channel their pain into purpose, the behind-the-scenes of building something as kids navigating unimaginable loss and trauma and the lessons we’ve all learned about the kind of resilience we can foster by simply choosing kindness.

It's a reminder that kindness IS a choice - not always an easy one, but definitely an important, valuable and potentially life saving one!

This episode is about more than a business — it’s about what happens when we (even kids) lead with purpose, when grief becomes action, and when kindness becomes a legacy. If you’ve ever wondered how to turn pain into something meaningful, this one will touch you deeply.

Episode 7: The Afterlife... Rylee & The Butterflies

What started as a love letter became a conversation of the soul, a spiritual investigation and a bridge between belief and uncertainty.

In this deeply personal episode, I share the sacred, surreal, and often unexplainable moments that have kept me connected to my daughter Rylee since her passing. From that first appearance of a delicate blue butterfly wing to the messages I’ve felt in quiet moments all the way through to (and since) my ayahuasca journey. This is about more than signs — it’s about the continued bond between a mother and her child, even across realms.

Grief cracks us wide open — and in that space, I’ve found connection, kindness, and a deeper understanding of how love doesn’t end just because a physical life does. If you’ve ever felt your person around you in ways you can’t explain, this conversation will feel like home. It’s not about moving on… it’s about staying open to what still is and allowing it to light the path on your way through healing as you learn to live and grieve simultaneously!

    Episode 6: Self-Love & Becoming THE ONE

In this episode, I talk about one of the most radical and healing things you can do: becoming the one you’ve been waiting for.

What if the person you’ve been searching for… is actually you? In this episode, I dive deep into the messy, beautiful, often painful journey of self-love — not as a trend, but as a lifeline. After divorce, deep grief, and learning how to live with both love and loss, I realized that becoming “the one” isn’t about being perfect — it’s about coming home to yourself.

I talk about the hard-earned lessons of choosing yourself, letting go of old stories, and learning to feel worthy without needing to be needed. If you’ve ever lost yourself in relationships or felt like your wholeness depends on someone else, this episode will meet you right where you are — and gently remind you that you already have within you everything you seek.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re too much, not enough, or stuck waiting for someone else to show up for you — this is your reminder that the love you’re craving starts within. And you are absolutely worth it.

Note: The book I mention in this episode is called:

  • Why Mindset Matters - Happy Wife, Happy Life... The Bullsh*t Intimacy Killer

In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on the pressure men face to keep everyone else happy while silently carrying the weight of their own unmet needs.

I explore what it means to practice healthy selfishness, how the lack of emotional permission hurts relationships, and why so many men feel lost in roles they didn’t choose but don’t know how to step out of. This conversation is raw, real, and overdue — because men’s mental health matters, and so does their wholeness.

A great listen for both men and women... If you're ready to challenge the old scripts and build something deeper, this one’s for you.

Episode 4: Manifest Like a Mofo

Let’s talk manifestation — the real kind. In this episode, I share how I started calling in the life I deeply desired after everything fell apart. From navigating deep grief to writing a book and saying yes to aligned opportunities, this is a story about reclaiming power, trusting timing, and getting clear on what you want — especially when life has already taken so much.

I open up about my journey with the 369 manifestation journal (yep, it actually changed my life), and how being intentional with my energy and mindset helped shift everything — money, relationships, and purpose. If you’ve ever wondered if you still get to dream big while grieving… the answer is YES. You are allowed to want more. And this episode is your permission slip.
