I explain what sleep type is, how to work yours out, and what sleep type means when it comes to your sleep. I also look at what happens if you're sharing a bed with someone who isn't the same sleep type. And I'll explain why it is about owls and larks and where we sit on the continuum between them, and why wolves, bears and dolphins are just not needed.

  • James, how much sleep do I need and how do I know if I have had enough?
    2023/11/03

I can't give you a magic number on this, but I can help you understand that sleep need is about how much and how good your sleep was last night; how sleep need differs for every individual and can differ for each individual every night; why tracking your sleep doesn’t tell you if you have met your sleep need; and how to “track” your sleep in a way that doesn't make your sleep worse.
