Most parents wait until wisdom teeth hurt before doing anything. That is the biggest mistake I see every week. Pain is the last sign a wisdom tooth gives you, not the first, and by the time it shows up, the easier surgery window may already be closed.
In this video, I'm going to explain exactly when wisdom teeth should come out, why age thirteen is usually the ideal time, and what happens when families wait too long.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
What is the best age to remove wisdom teeth?
Age thirteen is usually ideal because the crown has formed but the roots have not grown in yet, making surgery simpler and recovery faster. By your 20s, the roots are fully developed and often sit against the nerve or sinus, making the procedure bigger and recovery longer.
Do wisdom teeth need to come out if they are not hurting?
Yes, in many cases. Wisdom teeth can harbor cysts, cause decay in the neighboring molar, and create infections long before any pain develops.
Can you keep your wisdom teeth instead of removing them?
If a wisdom tooth is positioned correctly and the jaw has room for it, it can sometimes be left alone. Most of the time, though, they trap food, are hard to clean, and eventually cause problems.
