❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
What does it mean when your jaw clicks?
Jaw clicking means the disc inside your temporomandibular joint is moving out of sync with your jaw's normal motion. It can happen without pain, but it can also signal early joint damage.
Is jaw clicking dangerous?
Clicking alone is not always dangerous, but if it turns into pain, catching, or bone on bone grinding, it means the disc may no longer be in the right position. That requires evaluation before it gets worse.
How can you tell if you have TMJ dysfunction?
Check if you can fit three fingers into your open mouth. If you can only fit two or fewer, or you notice shiny worn spots on your front teeth, those are signs of TMJ dysfunction.
