  • It's ok not to be ok: Listen for some hope
    2023/05/24

    I'm back again after another needed break. This episode follows on from the last, 'It's ok not to be ok: Listen when your struggling' and brings you up to date with how I was feeling even days after recording that episode. Hopefully this episode can provide you with some greater life context of how a bad day doesn't mean a bad life and even if it has been a bad day/week/month/year, your mood and circumstances can change when you least expect them to. To get through anything you have to go through it, and I think that actually the beauty of life is experiencing a range of emotions, good and bad. I discuss what helped me whilst going through another low period and what is currently helping me now to maintain some form of mental stability.

  • It's ok not to be ok: Listen when you are struggling
    2023/04/05

    This episode was the most raw I have been whilst recording and the most difficult episode for me to release. I talk from a place of pain and just feeling exhausted from holding everything together and picking myself up from low places again and again. I was not sure whether to share this, however from the beginning Mindful and More has been about sharing my honest, transparent experience with my mental health. I hope this episode helps other people who are currently feeling a similar way to me to feel understood. Remember pain is temporary and the best moments of your life are yet to come. To take a step back does not mean you are failing and to feel tired does not make you weak.

  • Working And Studying With Mental Illness

    This episode focuses on how difficult it can be to handle the pressures of work/school/uni life with your mental health/mental illness. I discuss the impact lack of focus, energy, and motivation can have on your self-esteem and what that can look and feel like when you are expected to perform. I also discuss the importance of taking full advantage of any support service/adjustments provided to you and how using these has positively impacted my experience of working and studying whilst suffering with my own mental health and mental illness. There is light at the end of the tunnel and you CAN succeed while being mentally ill.

    At some of my lowest points, trying to start having a basic daily routine really helped pick me up and give me the motivation to make a change for myself. If you start small and build it up, who knows where you will be in a week/month/year. 

    In this episode, I discuss ideas of how to go about creating a routine for yourself using to-do lists and how this goes hand in hand with habit forming.
