  • Beautiful Bras, Outdoor Swimming and the Physicality of Boxing
    2023/02/22

On this episode we are joined by the kindest-spirited Tammy McDermid, as she generously leads us through her journey of surgery, bra designs, cold water swimming and boxing training. She describes hersself and her friends' antics whether that be two middle aged women surrounded by very polite sweaty men at boxing training or her group of swimmers putting the world to rights and surprisingly enjoying all that goes along with chilly swimming. Thank you so much Tammy for letting us into your very personal story, and for being so fun. This one takes the record for having to edit out the most giggling :) I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.

  • Broken back and hypothyroidism to triathlete, iron woman and all round lovely guest
    2022/12/13

Charming Australian Alyce Garth has quite the story. Iron Woman, International triathlete, long distance trekker (we’re talking 240km through the desert) and currently enjoying 30k trail runs – all after spinal fractures, getting through worrying about whether each run would flair up her symptoms, and being diagnosed with hypo-throidism. Alyce describes her journey back to exercise and her evolving relationship with her body. She says all the right things; whether it's about keeping energised having lived through hypothyroidism, about how to get a habit in place and a team around you to get up to high level exercise or about how bad times do change. Her unassuming her courage weaves throughout the pod, she's pretty inspiring!

from... "Is this run going to push me over the edge?" to “accepting support can actually be quite hard” to "It was just that switch: I can do this!"
