    Great conversation with Matteo Esposito of Invisible Challenge this week.

    He educates us on bipolar disorder, treatment centers and he helps me understand what happens when you go to the treatment centers. This is my preferred method of learning. I want to hear from someone who lives it, has gone through it, and has a 1st person account of what goes on.

  • What Is Alexithymia? Can Shame Be A Positive? Conversation With Shelby Nolan

    Had a very enlightening and fun conversation with Shelby Nolan of A Divergent Lens Counseling this week. We learn more about alexithymia, the positive side of shame, and more! I really enjoyed our chat.

    Shelby Nolan Bio:

    works as a trauma therapist as a licensed professional counselor. She specializes in working with neurodivergent and queer folks, in particular. As a neurodivergent person herself, she is passionate about reducing the stigma and the shame around neurodivergence and helping folks both celebrate their neurodivergence and also build strategies for managing the parts that can be more difficult. She has her own practice: A Divergent Lens Counseling in Colorado, where she also works hard to build community with other mental healthcare providers and others who are in helping fields. She's been slowly working on writing more about neurodivergence and therapy, so feel free to check out her website to see how that's going!

    Had a great time talking with Dr. Laurie Bruce this week about my old nemesis depression. We cover depression, suicidal ideations, and one of her DBT strategies of radical acceptance. This was a very helpful conversation for me, and I hope you get something out of it!
