Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - why the world's population is increasing; how many young women go to school; how many of us live in poverty - we systematically get the answers wrong. So wrong that a chimpanzee choosing answers at random will consistently outguess journalists, Nobel laureates, and investment bankers.

あらすじ・解説
The Napoleon Hill Foundation received many requests from people wanting the original, unedited, 1937 copy of Think and Grow Rich. To satisfy those customers, the Foundation reproduced Napoleon Hill’s personal copy of the first edition, printed in March of 1937. The book has the notation, “not to be loaned”, and signed: Annie Lou Hill (the wife of Dr. Hill). This personal copy of Dr. Hill’s was given to me by Dr. Charles W. Johnson, Chairman of the Napoleon Hill Foundation and a nephew of Napoleon Hill. It was Napoleon Hill who sent Dr. Johnson to medical school, and today he is a practicing cardiologist. Charlie refers to Napoleon Hill as “Uncle Nap” and will often make the statement, "Uncle Nap would be proud of the Foundation today." The original 1937 manuscript was written and edited with the assistance of Napoleon’s wife. In later years, the existing document was again edited by Dr. Hill. For example, the Foundation owns a 1958 edition that Hill edited personally. This did not lessen the book’s value in Hill’s judgment. Hill made the editing remarks in his own handwriting and the resulting 1960 edited edition has sold over 100 million copies making it the most read self-help book of all time.
Think and Grow Rich sells more copies today than before Dr. Hill died in 1970. Now, a new and authoritative recording of this original, unedited, one-of-a-kind work, authorized by the Napoleon Hill Foundation is available. By purchasing this audio edition, you will be supporting the nonprofit Napoleon Hill Foundation. The entire philosophy of Napoleon Hill is based on the Golden Rule. The Foundation deeply appreciates the support of those of you who only purchase Napoleon Hill authorized books. You can identify these materials by the Foundation Logo and by looking inside for Napoleon Hill copyright.

This version, read by Fred Stella, is THE version to buy
The book Think and Grow Rich is a classic. If you were to ask any author who writes on success, motivation, or self improvement my guess is each one would recommend this book.
The book, originally published in 1937, is now available online for free because copyrights have lapsed and that has led to more recent print editions having slight changes to the original text.
This audio is true to the original text and I find Fred's voice, pace and style to be the most enjoyable to listen to. I highly recommend this version as well as Fred's reading of Napoleon Hill's Laws of Success also here on Audible.

The original and ultimate success bible...
When it comes to the foundations of success, this book simply has no equal. I can't believe it had been this long since I visited it and especially on audiobook. It's so packed with deep wisdom that there's a temptation to dismiss parts of the work as less important when in reality, it is simply a complete work of gold.
A must read/listen for anyone who wants to tap into the life we were all born to lead in seeking the best that's inside each of us...

...Another ageless content.
Self-Editing. This is what this book is about. You self editing your mind, thoughts and actions. It takes efforts and commitment to digest the content as it needs to so it can act as it is meant to. Rich content on how to make sense of the mind and how it works. Valuable tips and rich information to feed your brain and create neuro pathways to a paradigm shift. Listen attentively and if you are not clear of the message, re-listen, as many times is necessary until it is understood by your mind.

Best book ever, especially if you apply the principles.
I love this book because it was produced over a long period of time and published in 1937. Yet all the principles still apply today. It has made a difference in my life and continues to do so. This is about the fourth or fifth time I've read through it and I will continue to reread it. Best of luck to anyone who chooses to read it.

A must to have book
What did you love best about Think and Grow Rich (1937 Edition)?
Although the language and some terminology are obsolete, the main sense of the book remains valid up to date.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The story of the little girl who stand up against a grown up man for some cents shows clearly the secret that the author mention at the beginning of the book
What about Fred Stella’s performance did you like?
His voice keeps you interested in the book.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
To succeed in every goal you have in mind you need to think of it and believe it's possible and then put your best effort in achieving, always seeing yourself as if you already have it.
Any additional comments?
This is one of the best books I'd ever read, I have the kindle version and the audiobook and I've listened to it a couple of times, I'm also practicing the philosophy that is in the book and I must say that it really works.

An inspiration, if notably ageing
This audiobook, an unabridged reading of a book written in 1937, was and is, a real inspiration. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that it was written in the early 20th century; where the author offers explanations for some founded on scientific knowledge now known to be untrue. And the assumptions of gender roles and the intended audience invite a quiet chuckle from the discerning modern listener. Still, putting aside the fanciful speculations about how and why some phenomena of science might work, taken more as analogies than literal truth, it is a rare insight into the nature of human endeavours, which appears as valid today as it did back then. Inspiring, but ageing.

Good Advice - Science is a little outdated
Good advice and it movtiates you to get goals completed and look for success. However you can REALLY tell this was written in the 1930s with its imagination of how science works, but I will note that while the science mechanics are incorrect the advice is still valid. Of course there isn't ACTUAL telepathic thoughts, but your emotions around other people do affect them and how they treat you through subconscious triggers we notice. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence but from the other psychological books I've read these appear to be valid in the most part - so once again, the advice in this book is valid. It's a little funny how a man during the 1930s would completely ignore the social and environmental barriers some people face such as women, queer people, and people of colour and puts it down to 'excuses' but once again while we face barriers, the major ones are what we construct ourselves and he concentrates on eliminating these. I like the weird sex transmutation chapter and it's completely hetronormative storyline of evolution which bases his theory on how everyone man is successful because he wants to please a lady - but there is some nuggets of good advice even in this bizarre chapter. In a nutshell: Crazy book but informative and a time capsule of 1930 American Dream. Worth a read when complimented with modern psychology and good habit forming books.
