Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - why the world's population is increasing; how many young women go to school; how many of us live in poverty - we systematically get the answers wrong. So wrong that a chimpanzee choosing answers at random will consistently outguess journalists, Nobel laureates, and investment bankers.

The next Bill Gates will not build an operating system. The next Larry Page or Sergey Brin won’t make a search engine. And the next Mark Zuckerberg won't create a social network. If you are copying these guys, you aren't learning from them. It's easier to copy a model than to make something new: doing what we already know how to do takes the world from 1 to n, adding more of something familiar. But every time we create something new, we go from 0 to 1.
あらすじ・解説
The best investment guide money can buy, with more than 1.5 million copies sold, now fully revised and updated.
Today's stock market is not for the faint of heart. At a time of frightening volatility, what is the average investor to do? The answer: Turn to Burton G. Malkiel's advice in his reassuring, authoritative, gimmick-free, and perennially best-selling guide to investing. Long established as the first book to purchase before starting a portfolio or 401(k), A Random Walk Down Wall Street now features new material on "tax-loss harvesting", the crown jewel of tax management; the current bitcoin bubble; and automated investment advisers; as well as a brand-new chapter on factor investing and risk parity.
And as always, Malkiel's core insights - on stocks and bonds, as well as real estate investment trusts, home ownership, and tangible assets like gold and collectibles - along with the book's classic life-cycle guide to investing, will help restore confidence and composure to anyone seeking a calm route through today's financial markets.

It is like a series of very enjoyable lectures
I read this for the first time and after Tony Robins’ “Money Master the Game” and “Unshakable.” In hindsight, it probably should have been the other way around. However now that I have read all three great publications that are all pretty much pointing to the same conclusions but going deeper into different aspects of that same conclusion, I am very grateful to the authors.
I am certain I will come back to listen to this again as it was enjoyable, and a hell of a lot to digest in one go. Perhaps the most opposite times to revisit this book will be when I feel like being more speculative then I should be with my portfolio.
The fact that The author has continued to update this book to keep it relevant is admirable and what makes it so useful. I would recommend this as a must read to everyone from Novus investors too those who have been in the market for a while but feel like they are having a midlife crisis. I am of the latter group and I am very grateful that I found this book.
It is not at all a get rich quick book, and it will never be but it is definitely a gem. And one that will give you a firm academic foundation on what is sensible.

Horrible book for Audiobook.
For a person that is trying to learn about the market, this book is extremely difficult to understand by only hearing at it. You need to accompany it with the written version. It has sections when it literally gives you actual math to think about. Extremely misleading, you learn very little like that. Mostly if investing in the market is something you have not done on your own beyond a simple 401K. Extremely disappointed.

Excellent investment advice, poor narration
Like the title says, I believe that the advice provided in the book is excellent and practical. The author provides premise, data, and conclusions for his theories based on decades of work.
Unfortunately the narrator did not do the book justice, he has a very steccato style. That takes away from the listening experience.

Well written, and very informative
The author substantiates his arguments by drawing from examples throughout the history.
The 'average' results from index funds sound rather appealing, given that they beat the returns of actively ma managed funds.
