Dont download the audio book

The audiobook's included pdf does not have all of the chapters checklists and workbook prompts. If you're serious about doing this 7-week course you're better off getting the paper book. Otherwise, there are parts of it that are not read.

Not Practical for on the go listening.

This Audio book is not Practical for on the go listening eg. In the car or train etc. as it consists of 80% of Admin (Making notes and lists etc).

This is supposed to be an Audio book.

This book places a huge importance on writing down stuff, checking out diagrams and etc. That defies the purpose of an audio book that we usually listen to while working out, or simply doing anything else that restrain us from reading a book, or writing down thoughts for that matter.

Mediocre

My limited experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy comes from a semester long undergraduate course.

Despite this, it feels like the author is patronizing us; sophomoric, while somehow pedantic at the same time.

For me, a waste of money and time.

Did not help me

not very good for audible as it asks you to write down your thoughts throughout. I was listening in the car. Also a lot of chapters were Unrealistic. Like the chapter on choosing activities to do. Also the chapter on face your fears and time management not relative to me. The only one I found somewhat helpful is challenging your thoughts with evidence.

The PDF has missing pages

I'd hoped to use it in conjunction with the PDF workbook but there are lots of missing pages so the workbook doesn't really make sense.

this isn't a book it's an un-constructive module

Struggled with most of this book. You can't come to terms with mental issues or anxiety disorders via a book. It should have stuck at explaining disorders & determining differences & similarities between the. The book has exercises throughout that are mainly based on examples from fictitious characters problems so you will never "fix" anything with this book because if you have a disorder you need to reflect YOUR examples with a real person or counsellor who can give feedback on YOUR issues. Just glad I used a free credit to download this.

Trivialises Depression & Anxiety

The book is pretty devoid of useful guidance. The examples used are laughable. One was where a mother was depressed because she talked sternly to her child. Another was a chap who was scared to cross bridges. A lot of the others sound like made up garbage, Don't waste your money.

Ok so far but the pdf workbook is not complete

I bought the audio book and have started. However the pdf work book is not complete. Some of the pages are missing. I contacted audible who in turn contacted the publisher. Publisher has said they will NOT update the pdf. Audible refunded me, to their credit. Poor show by the publishers though.
You can still go through the exercises but it would have been easier with a work book

Pages missing from the PDF

Pages missing from the PDF that do some explaining. sentences cut off part the way through, for the PDF version. 'not good enough'. a self help book with limitations and needs help. not a great start.

Bonus material

Literally just started listening and the narrator mentioned bonus material with diagrams etc. I have no bonus material, supposedly available in library. Not even 5 minutes in and seems like a waste of time. Disappointing.

Too long to help anyone

Don’t bother. This is literally the worst. I’ve listened to the last hour and have got nothing. Please please don’t ever put your rubbish on here again.

Clear and logical programme

This manual for CBT is clear and easy to implement. It all makes sense and I feel positive about it working. I have tried the techniques on myself and they feel powerful. Next step is to try it out with a subject.

The workbook is missing pages!?

Look at the second page, it says page 20 and several over pages are skipped. This is giving me anxiety. It's very hard to tell when I am supposed be writing or listening as the author seems to tell you to write down your thoughts every bloody sentence. Am I supposed to stop the audio and write a paragraph every 5 secs? It's not at all clear.

Great introduction to CBT

This book is a great introduction to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The bonus material and workbook style is perfect for beginners or as a refresher.
