Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - why the world's population is increasing; how many young women go to school; how many of us live in poverty - we systematically get the answers wrong. So wrong that a chimpanzee choosing answers at random will consistently outguess journalists, Nobel laureates, and investment bankers.

Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

In this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

The next Bill Gates will not build an operating system. The next Larry Page or Sergey Brin won’t make a search engine. And the next Mark Zuckerberg won't create a social network. If you are copying these guys, you aren't learning from them. It's easier to copy a model than to make something new: doing what we already know how to do takes the world from 1 to n, adding more of something familiar. But every time we create something new, we go from 0 to 1.

あらすじ・解説
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Make Time, written and read Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky.
What if you could step off the hamster wheel and start taking control of your time and attention?
As creators of Google Ventures' renowned 'design sprint', Jake and John have helped hundreds of teams solve important problems by changing how they work. Building on the success of these sprints and their experience designing ubiquitous tech products like Gmail and YouTube, they spent years experimenting with their own personal habits and routines, looking for ways to help individuals optimise their energy, focus and time. Now they've packaged the most effective tactics into a four-step daily framework that anyone can use to systematically design their days.
Making time isn't about radically overhauling your lifestyle; it's about making small shifts in your environment to liberate yourself from constant busyness and distraction. Make Time is a must-read for anyone who has ever thought 'if only there were more hours in the day....'

Well narrated and some good tips around mindset and productivity. Particularly like the way they number each rip, and the beginning of each chapter they tell you the 8 tips. Coming up.
It's well. Narrated by the authors, and give some use able, whereas some are a bit drastic but I guess it's about selecting what will Work for you

This book allowed me to think of things from a different perspective and also gave me new things to try. I am trying to reduce my social media and phone usage and this book definitely gave me tasks and challenges to help along the way. Narrator's are also well spoken but in a welcoming pattern that feels like a podcast.
Very informative with things to take away and use in day to day life. The iPhone home screen section has helped tremendously with my usage times.

A gem of a book
I loved this book. infact I'm listening to it for a second time and the third time I will read the kindle copy and make notes. finally when i come across a hard copy, I'm buying it for keeps. Reason: Iitially I dismissed it as a for a book for youngster: FB, instagram etc addicts. As a matter of fact I removed these apps from my phone a long time ago before I came across this book, having realised they are sucking whirl pools. Despite that fact, i have found the idea of clearly defining your "highlight" for the day, deciding your most important single task and qualifying it according to your own importance a lifetime "aha!" moment. I recommend this book to anyone who feels like they are in an endless rat race or absolutely unmotivated despite knowing they have things to do. this one is a keepers gem...a life changer. Enjoy & learn.

I had high hopes given the author’s prior book. However this is more a rehashed list of useful tactics rather than anything new. A good four page summary of useful tactics and tools would be just as useful. Skip the book and read the resources section of the accompanying website.

Every now and then you’ll come across a book that you listen or read over and over again. Make Time is one of those. I know I’ll refer back To Make Time over and over again as I apply tactic after tactic. Not for everyone.
The issues that the book tries to help to solve, are very particular to a range of very busy and high performance and motivated people that live for work only, this kind of people that don't have time to appreciate the good things of life and really have to find out how to do that. Isn't that case of many of us ordinary people, if someone says to me that has hundreds of emails per day for reading and answer I'll think he or she really deserves it, maybe this is the goal that this person achieved professionally and most of these people talking about it with proud, I know a few people like that, that working night and day and expecting all other people of the office doing the same thing.
