みなさん「煩悩と聞いてどんなイメージを持ちますか？」

「もっともっとお金を稼ぎたい」
「旨いメシをたらふく食いたい」

これらは立派な煩悩です。
「○○したい」というのはすべて煩悩。

ほかにも
怒り、妬み、うぬぼれ、などなど
数にして「108」あると言われています。

煩悩はどうやら悪いことのようです。
だから、書店では「煩悩を消す方法」を説いた書籍を
よく見かけます。

「煩悩を消す」ことができるのでしょうか？

結論から言って・・・無理です。
なぜならば、煩悩を消すイコール悟りを開くこと。
ハッキリ言えば、「死ぬこと」でしか
煩悩からは解放されません。

「屋上で草花を楽しめるようにと、プランターに苗を植えたのですが
どなたも関心を示さないんですよ」

朝夕に水をやって素敵な花を咲かせる。
あるいは野菜を育てて収穫する。

「花を咲かせたい」「収穫を楽しみたい」
という原動力は「欲」です。
煩悩です。
