  • Hope with a Side of Hot Mess

If you’ve ever tried to hold onto hope while also holding a pile of laundry, a mental breakdown, and maybe an iced coffee you can’t afford—welcome, friend. This episode is for you.

We’re talking about the real, raw, messy side of hope—the part no one puts on Pinterest. Hope isn’t always polished or picture-perfect; sometimes it’s mascara running down your cheeks, prayers whispered through gritted teeth, and the quiet audacity to believe God isn’t done yet.

In this episode, I’m sharing stories, scripture, and therapy tools to remind you that hope doesn’t require a spotless life to show up. It sneaks in through the cracks, grows in the chaos, and carries us even when we’re falling apart.

So grab your messy bun, your journal, or just your car keys for that sacred meltdown drive—and let’s find the kind of hope that holds up in real life.

  • The Problem with Before & After Photos: Why Your Worth Was Never in the ‘After’
    2025/08/11

    Send us a text

Before-and-after photos: diet culture’s favorite party trick and the internet’s most over-filtered “inspiration.” In this episode of The Wild Growth Therapist Podcast, Kirsten Kilroy — therapist, professional truth-teller, and survivor of atypical anorexia — takes you behind the perfectly posed side-by-sides to unpack the messy truth. We’ll talk about how these photos often glorify harm, fuel comparison, and reduce your worth to a dress size. Expect a mix of humor, honesty, and some holy reminders that your value was never dependent on your body. If you’ve ever felt like you were only “good enough” in the “after,” this episode is here to set you free — cellulite, soft belly, and all.

  • This Episode is Brought to You by Depression, a Weighted Blanket, and Jesus
    2025/08/04

    Send us a text

Let’s be real: some days, getting out of bed feels like climbing Mount Everest… without oxygen… or pants. In this brutally honest and soul-hugging episode, we’re talking about those days when your body feels heavy, your hope feels low, and your to-do list is looking at you like “you up?” (No. No, I’m not.)

I’ll take you through what high-functioning depression can look like behind closed doors, the shame we carry when we can’t just snap out of it, and why your worth has absolutely nothing to do with your productivity. We’ll also explore how faith can be a lifeline — not because it fixes everything, but because it reminds you you’re never alone.

Whether you’ve been living in your hoodie, crying in the shower (or skipping it entirely), or just need someone to say “same,” this one’s for you.

    Includes:
    💤 A moment of grounding
💥 Truth bombs about depression and shame
🙏 Faith-based encouragement (with zero perfectionism attached)
🧠 Clinical insight from a therapist who’s been there
❤️ A whole lot of love

  • Brain? Bouncing. Focus? Missing. Heart? Huge.
    2025/08/04

If you’ve ever walked into a room and immediately forgotten why you’re there…
If your brain feels like a browser with 87 tabs open (and one is playing music you can’t find)…
If your heart is tender, your ideas are endless, but your planner is empty or half-colored in?
Yeah. Welcome, sis. You might just have ADHD.

In this episode of Wild Growth Therapist, we’re diving deep into the overlooked, underdiagnosed, and wildly misunderstood world of ADHD in girls and women. From the masking and perfectionism of “good girls,” to the shame spiral of missed deadlines and messy bedrooms, this one’s for every woman who’s ever felt scattered but sacred.

    Together, we’ll explore:

    • 🧠 Why ADHD shows up differently in girls (and why it’s often missed)
    • 💔 The grief of not knowing sooner — and how to heal now
    • 🙃 How shame, people-pleasing, and perfectionism often grow from undiagnosed ADHD
    • 🙏 What Scripture says about being wired differently — and wonderfully
    • 💡 Coping tools, faith-based insight, and the reminder: you are not broken

This episode is funny, fierce, faithful — and full of love for every daydreaming, hyper-focused, sensitive, scattered queen out there.

  • My Healing Journey (Part 2): Faith, Therapy, and the In-Between
    2025/07/22

    Send us a text

In this deeply personal episode, I open up about the part of healing that often goes unspoken—the in-between. After surviving the crisis and beginning therapy, I found myself in a space where I wasn’t who I used to be, but not yet who I was becoming. This episode walks with you through that messy, sacred middle ground.

I share the chapters of my story where therapy and faith began to intersect—where clinical skills met spiritual surrender, and where I wrestled with grief, anxiety, and identity. I talk candidly about what it was like to return to faith after years away from the Church, how OCD challenged my spirituality, and how perfectionism often tried to convince me I wasn’t healing “the right way.” You’ll hear about moments of radical honesty, quiet breakthroughs, and the slow rebuilding of trust—in myself, in others, and in God.

This is not a highlight reel. It’s a real-time testimony of navigating doubt, rebuilding routines, reparenting your inner child, and learning to receive grace even when you don’t feel worthy of it.

If you're in a season where you're doing the work but don't feel "better" yet, if you’re holding both prayer and panic in the same breath, or if you're wondering if you're the only one who feels lost halfway through the healing process—this episode is for you.

    📌 Topics We’ll Explore:

    • The myth of “arrival” in healing
    • How therapy and faith can work together
    • The emotional and spiritual cost of perfectionism
    • OCD and intrusive thoughts in the context of spirituality
    • What it means to return to God imperfectly and honestly
    • The grace that finds us in the middle

🕊️ You are not alone in the in-between. You don’t have to be fully healed to be deeply loved. And you don’t have to have it all figured out to keep going.
