When your nervous system has heard enough tea for one day…press play.

If you spend your day taking care of other people, you know the job is rarely just the job.

Clients bring their hair, bodies, stress, stories, relationships, family drama—and occasionally enough tea to require a confidentiality agreement!

This short guided meditation is for hairstylists, trainers, massage therapists, estheticians, teachers, healthcare workers, and anyone who spends their day in service of others.

In less than a few minutes, ground yourself, reconnect with your own body and breath.

Embrace being present for the people you serve without carrying everything they bring into your space. Because you can care deeply without taking it all home with you.

Amber thought she was walking into a wonderful new opportunity. A growing salon. A supportive environment. A place where she could build her career, grow her clientele, and be part of something exciting.

Instead, she walked straight into a shitshow.

Amber could have ignored the red flags. She could have convinced herself to stay quiet, keep her head down, and hope things got better.

    She didn’t.

In this episode of We Didn’t Plan for This, Amber shares what happened when she started listening to that little voice telling her something was very wrong—and what it took to finally trust herself enough to walk away.

Because leaving wasn’t the end of Amber’s story.

    Sometimes your gut isn’t overreacting.

    Sometimes it’s giving you directions.

And sometimes getting the hell out is exactly how you find your way into something better.

    Send Us a Message

When the universe says, “Plot twist!” and you did not ask for a rewrite…press play.

EARLY RELEASE! Usually we release meditations on Wednesdays and Fridays, but since the Lunar Eclipse is tonight, we couldn't wait!

Sometimes something moves directly into the path of the life we thought we were building.

A relationship changes. A door closes. A loss rearranges everything. And suddenly, the route we were so sure about doesn’t exist anymore.

Inspired by the Lunar Eclipse, The Detour is a guided meditation for navigating unexpected change, uncertainty, and the moments when life doesn’t go according to plan.

The plan may have changed, but you didn’t disappear.

If this meditation made you think of someone whose life has taken an unexpected detour, send it to them. And if In Case of Emergency, Press Play has become part of your own emergency kit, please follow the podcast, rate and review it, and share an episode. Every one of those little things helps more people find us when they need somewhere to land.

  • 1. We Didn't Plan For This: So...This is the Plan Now
    2026/08/25

    Send Us a Message

What happens when the life you planned becomes the life you never saw coming?

Welcome to the very first episode of We Didn’t Plan for This in its new home.

This podcast was never part of the plan. Then again, neither were most of the things that brought Adrienne here.

After the unexpected death of her husband, Brian, Adrienne found herself navigating a life she never imagined — grief, widowhood, parenting, probate, money, friendship, starting over, and the realization that sometimes life couldn’t care less about the plans you’ve made.

But We Didn’t Plan for This isn’t just a grief podcast.
It’s about all the ways life goes off-script — the devastating ones, the hilarious ones, the beautiful ones, and the completely WTF ones.

In this first episode, Adrienne shares why We Didn’t Plan for This now has a home of its own, what listeners can expect going forward, and the question at the heart of the entire show:
What happened in your life that you never planned for?
    Have a story?
We want to hear it. Email WDPFTpodcast@gmail.com.

And if someone came to mind while listening, send them this episode. Follow, rate, review, and share We Didn’t Plan for This to help more people find their way here.

Because nobody really knows what’s coming.
So… this is the plan now.
