  • # 196 What Comes from a World Full of Practicing Catholics? 10 Ways Practicing Catholicism Changes You for the Good.
    2026/09/01

⭐️ Today's Topic: My Reflection on why practicing Catholicism is so valuable and needed in our world today.

    1. When we make a regular practice of acknowledging and glorifying God as our creator, our life becomes more properly ordered.

    2. When we routinely acknowledge Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, we receive a real sense of what it means to give and receive unconditional love.

    3. When we are reminded of our advocate of the Holy Spirit, we realize that we are never alone and we benefit from communing with him.

    4. When we choose to live a life that Christ calls us to and become obedient to his plan, we experience true Freedom.

    5. When we trust Jesus with every aspect of our life, in his mercy, grace and love, we become transformed and made new.

    6. When we choose poverty over riches in order to live out God’s call on our lives, we truly experience and receive God’s provision in our life on a day to day basis.

    7. When we consistently choose Jesus in the good times, he remains a strong foundation and provides for us through the hard times.

    8. When we practice our Catholic Christian faith and apply it to our day to day life, we become a light to others in need.

    9. When we are reminded of Jesus’ love and sacrifice for us while we were still sinners, we are better able to love those who hurt us.

    10. When we practice sacraments such as Holy Eucharist and Reconciliation regularly, we become vessels of God’s love, meant to be poured out to and for others.

  • # 193 What does it take to Actively Pursue Your Catholic Faith? 10 Aspects that make you a Practicing Catholic.
    2026/08/20
⭐️ Today's Topic: What does it mean to be a Practicing Catholic? What it means to be a Practicing Catholic: 1.You’ve been baptized by the church. 2. You have or are in the process of receiving the 7 sacraments appropriately. 3. Minimally, you attend mass on Sundays and on Holy days of obligation. January 1: Solemnity of Mary May 14: Ascension of Jesus — Celebrated on the sixth Thursday after Easter Sunday* August 15: Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary* November 1: Solemnity of All Saints December 8: Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary December 25: Christmas 4. Receive the sacrament of Holy Eucharist at list once a year during the Easter season. 5. Receive the sacrament of reconciliation at least once a year. 6. Fast and abstain from meat on designated Holy days like Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. 7. Support the Church through donation of time, money and/or talents. 8. Accept the core beliefs of the Creed. The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. 9. Try to live by the 10 Commandments and church moral teachings. Catholics follow a traditional order, largely influenced by St. Augustine’s teachings: I am the Lord your God; you shall have no other gods before me.You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.Honor your father and your mother. You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods. 10. Use these 1st 9 ways as a guide but be open to exploring and expanding your practices to encourage life and growth in the faith: a. Attend a Bible Study b. Attend Eucharistic adoration c. Attend daily mass d. Pray the Rosary e.
