  • Taking Fierce Responsibility for Your Health
    2025/08/12

    Send us a text

You might think "responsibility" sounds heavy, maybe even guilt-ridden. But in this episode, I’m flipping that word on its head. We’re talking about fierce responsibility—not blame, but empowerment. You'll hear the belief that changed everything for me, and how it's helping me and my clients take control of their autoimmune health in practical, feel-good ways. I’m also introducing a new belief seed worth planting, sharing one of my biggest takeaways from a creativity retreat, and giving you one simple way to start shifting from reaction to response today.

    Key Takeaways:

    • The life-changing redefinition of responsibility as response-ability
    • Why reacting is human—but learning to respond is powerful
    • A new “belief seed” to plant for autoimmune health: I am responsible for my health
    • What it means to control the controllables—and what those actually are
    • What I learned about how to distill big life lessons into actionable change...and how you can do it, too

"We don’t have control over everything in life, but what we can control, we need to take a fierce responsibility for." – Elizabeth Gilbert

    DO of the DAY:
Ask yourself: What is one problem I can take some fierce responsibility for today?
Then, follow it up with: How can I take responsibility for it—starting now?
Challenge yourself to find just one answer and act on it. This is how you build the ability to respond and start becoming someone who feels in control of their health.

  • Habit 99: Gift Yourself This For Your Birthday
    2025/07/29

    Send us a text

As I approached a milestone birthday last year, I found myself checking-in with a future version of me. And now, it's earned a spot in my annual habit rotation. In this episode, I share the exact habit I practiced to build a deeper relationship with “Amy at 41,” how it changed my thoughts, actions, and results, and how you can use this same birthday-based fresh start effect to create autoimmune health and lasting change. Spoiler: it starts with writing a love letter to the future you.

    In this episode:

    • How to use your birthday as a powerful fresh start to build habits that last
    • What it looks like to create a meaningful relationship with future you
    • The specific physical strength habits I tracked and practiced all year
    • How I used weekly reflections, metrics, and mindset tools to measure progress
    • What I wrote in my email to “Amy at 41”… and what’s coming next for 42

    DO of the DAY:

Give yourself the gift of communicating with future you. Plan for him or her and commit to following through on that plan to get you closer to your feel-good self. Choose a date—your next birthday works beautifully—and send a note from today’s you to the version of you you're becoming. Be honest. Be specific. Be loving.

    Send us a text

Regret isn’t something we usually invite in—but what if it could be one of your most powerful teachers? In this episode, I share how to use the emotion of regret to your advantage in creating a healthier, more habit-aligned life with autoimmune disease. I share a life-changing client insight you may want to borrow and you'll hear why befriending regret can fuel momentum—and how it can become your friend moving forward.

    Key Takeaways:

    • The four types of regret (and why foundational regret is most important for health)
    • What Daniel Pink’s research teaches us about using regret wisely
    • How to tell if you’re stuck in “temporal discounting”—and what to do instead
    • A 3-step habit strategy to turn regret into motivation

    DO of the DAY
Name one health regret you’re holding, big or small—just one “too much” of this or “too little” of that. Then look for the lesson it’s trying to teach you, and let that awareness fuel ONE decision today that future-you will thank you for.

  • Habit 97: Use Journaling To Up Your Health Game with Jennifer Faherty
    2025/07/15

    Send us a text

If you’ve ever picked up a journal and thought, “Is this really going to help?”—this episode is for you. I’m joined by Jennifer Faherty, founder of PsychPaper and creator of the Positive Psychology Planner, to explore how journaling isn’t just a creative outlet—it’s a science-backed strategy that rewires the brain, regulates emotions, and helps us move from knowing to doing. Whether you’ve been writing for years or never journaled a day in your life, this conversation is packed with insight, strategy, and encouragement to make journaling a habit that sticks.

Jennifer’s story is one of science meets soul. Her personal journey—from being gifted her first journal by a best friend to studying positive psychology at Penn—beautifully mirrors what I teach inside the CLUB: how writing down your thoughts can support your health from the inside out.

    Key Takeaways

    • How journaling supports emotional regulation, memory, sleep, and resilience
    • Why writing by hand activates more areas of the brain than typing
    • What counts as journaling—and why there’s no one right way to do it
    • A fresh perspective on gratitude and other positive emotions worth tracking
    • How journaling helps apply what we know to what we do
    • Tips to personalize your journaling practice and make it feel good to stick with
    • The overlooked role of journaling as a foundational habit for all other habits

    "What feels like love?"
—Jennifer Faherty, on her favorite go-to journaling prompt

    DO of the DAY
Use journaling to bridge the gap between knowing and doing. Try a prompt like “What feels like love?” or “I am a person who…” and write whatever comes up. No rules. No pressure. Just pen to paper—and see what shifts.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you really belong—in a group, in a space, in your own body—this episode is for you. I’m sharing a real coaching session with my client, Sara, who brought this vulnerable question to me as her coach. Together, we unpack the deeper belief behind it, explore where it might be coming from, and build a real-world strategy she can use to feel more grounded and connected—inside and out.

It’s a powerful peek into the kind of work we do inside the CLUB—and the kind of support available when you stop trying to figure it all out alone.

What you’ll hear in this episode:

    • Why “I'm not sure I belong here” is more than just a passing thought—it’s a habitual belief that you can shift
    • How we spot brain drama versus real-world evidence when it comes to belonging
    • The importance of finding a safe space to build awareness, feel more acceptance, and take more guided action to create the healthy life you want
    • The surprising bonus benefits Sara has experienced through coaching
    • A peek at the real conversations that help clients make lasting habit change

  • Habit 96: Make Friends With Your Feelings with Danelle Gallo
    2025/07/01

    Send us a text

Sometimes it’s easier to track your food than to name your feelings. But what if tuning into your emotions held the key to more energy, consistency, and even health progress with autoimmune disease? In this episode, I’m joined by somatic coach and former nurse Danelle Gal (aka Nurse Nell) for a conversation that brings warmth, wisdom, and practical strategies to the emotional side of habit change.

Together, we unpack how emotions live in the body, why it’s worth learning to feel them on purpose, and how befriending your feelings might just be the missing piece in your autoimmune health journey.

    Key Takeaways:

    • How feeling dismissed in her own health journey led Danelle to do things differently
    • What somatic work actually looks like—and why it’s not as “woo” as you might think
    • A different way to think about grief (hint: it’s not just about loss)
    • Why some emotions are hard to name—and why that’s not a problem
    • The connection between emotions and habits we don’t always see coming
    • What changes when you stop trying to get rid of a feeling and start getting curious about it

"What I feel makes sense—for reasons known and unknown."
    – Danelle Gal

    DO of the DAY
Try a simple 3-step process to make friends with a feeling you’d usually ignore, stuff down, or try to think your way out of. You don’t need to name it perfectly. You don’t need to fix it. Just be with it a little longer than you usually would—and see what it has to say.
