  • CAT Episode 200 - Best Of The CAT: Vol. 4

    Time to celebrate our 4th "Best of The CAT" show, in our series. We highlight the most popular episodes from #151 to #199. The people's choice was Barry Goudreau (Boston, Orion The Hunter, RTZ and Barry Goudreau's Engine Room) who is featured on Episode 187. Also towards the top of the list was Humble Pie! Dave (Bucket) Colwell, who played on their last studio album - Back On Track and was also in Bad Company for 12 years, joins us. Listen to the full Humble Pie show on Episode 166. We close out this "Best Of The CAT" show with The Church. Steve Kilbey the singer/songwriter/bassist for the band he founded in 1980, joins us. They have a brand new album out titled Eros Zeta and The Perfumed Guitars. You'll find Steve and the band featured on Episode 156.     Mark Farner was co-founder/singer/guitarist for Grand Funk Railroad who were founded in 1969. With Grand Funk he had 6 Platinum and 3 Gold records from 1969 to 1975. In 1976, Mark went on to release 7 solo albums including his latest Closer To My Home that dropped in 2024.   • CAT Episode 198 - Cy Curnin (The Fixx)

    Cy Curnin has been the frontman for The Fixx since they were formed in 1980. One of the few "classic" bands with their originial members today, they have produced a Platinum and Gold albums in their careers, with 16 songs landing on various singles charts. Multi-award winning program director Ray White sat down backstage with Cy in April of 2025 to talk about major events during the career of the band, his latest solo EP - My Own Worst Enemy, the latest album by The Fixx - Every Five Seconds and other awesome happenings. In our showcase segment we continue to focus on bands that launched in the 1980's featuring the latest on Depeche Mode, who in 2023 dropped Memento Mori and The Call who uncovered songs from back in the day and recently released them as The Lost Tapes.     Brad Gillis has been the guitarist for Night Ranger since they were formed in 1982. Throughout the years, the band has released over a dozen studio albums and collectively had two Platinum and three Gold releases. On Part Two of our interview with Brad (you'll find Part One on Episode 10) he touches on his early years in music, work with "The Prince of Darkness," Night Ranger's 2011 major tour and album Somewhere In California. Night Ranger's latest studio album is titled ATBPO. The great Alex Lifeson of Rush is featured in our showcase segment. His new band is Envy of None and their latest album is Stygian Wavz.     Emerson Hart co-founded Tonic in 1993 and is their lead vocalist and plays rhythm guitar. The band has received two Grammy award nominations and has a Platinum album to their credit. Tonic's latest release is a single titled "To Be Loved." On the solo front, Emerson has released 3 solo albums. His latest single is "I Look For You." Reaching back in our archives, multi-award winning program director Ray White caught up with Emerson in May of 2015 before his solo performance in Myrtle Beach, SC to talk about the transition from the band to his solo work, differences between his music with Tonic and his solo work, his Beauty In Despair solo album, the latest with Tonic and much, much more.     Duane Betts, guitarist/singer/songwriter, heads up his band Duane Betts and Palmetto Motel and is a co-founder of The Allman-Betts Band. He is the son of the late Allman Brothers Band's co-founder, Dickey Betts. Throughout the years you'd find Duane in various bands including Dawes, Puddle of Mudd, Whitestarr, Jamtown and Dickey Betts & Great Southern. Multi-award winning program director Ray White caught up with Duane out on tour with Little Feat in October of 2024 who touched on his early career highlights, being the son of a legendary rock star and his recent albums - Wild and Precious Life and Bless Your Heart.   • CAT Episode 193 - Jimi Haha (Jimmie's Chicken Shack)

    Jimi Haha is the frontman for the band Jimmie's Chicken Shack that launched in 1993 in Baltimore, MD. His career took off after signing with Elton John's Rocket Records in 1996. The band blends their alternative style with rock and funk to produce their driving sound. They've toured with 311, Live, Everclear, Fuel and others. In September of 2024, Ray White interviews Jimi and touched on the bands history with various record labels, the "Haha" name, their latest album 2econds, his Jarflys band and plans for 2025. In our showcase segment we feature the most popular American band from the 1990's, Pearl Jam whose latest album is Dark Matter. We close out our show with a group that has 2 Platinum and 4 Gold albums, 311, whose new release is titled Full Bloom. Rock music at the core, on this edition from your rockin' friends at the CAT!
