🎙 Episode 21: A Better Version of Yourself with Jia Xi

    Yun yung binubuo mo.

This episode is about functioning and growing while managing depression.

    Hindi yung biglang okay ka.

    Hindi yung instant shift.

    Yung totoo:

You learn how to work with your state, not wait for it to change.

In this conversation with Jia Xi, we talked about how progress actually looks like:

    You show up.

    You do what you can.

You keep structure in your day.

You build systems that support you.

Kasi ang difference ng taong umaangat?

They don’t depend on how they feel.

They build habits they can rely on.

    We went into:

how identity is shaped by consistent action

how routines create stability when emotions fluctuate

how to stay productive even on low-energy days

and how small wins build real confidence over time

    Here’s the key shift:

You don’t need to solve everything at once.

You just need to handle today better.

And when you do that consistently…

    Mas nagiging steady ka.

    Mas nagiging clear ka.

    Mas nagiging capable ka.

That’s how you build a better version of yourself.

Not by waiting for the right feeling.

But by creating a way to move forward anyway.

  • 🎙 Episode 21: Prove It to Yourself
    2026/04/30

After this conversation with my friend Justin Pinon
And I’ve seen this too many times.
    You can give people tools.
    You can give them strategies.
You can even guide them step by step.
Change doesn’t happen when you say it.
It happens when you prove it to yourself.
    Dun nagsisimula yung shift.
    And to be honest…
Kahit ako, I still catch myself.
May moments na automatic yung response.
May moments na bumabalik yung old pattern.
    And once you’re aware…
    you have a choice.
kaya mong piliin yung next version mo.
    Again and again.
    "Know your value.
    Then become it."

    2026/04/06

🎙 Episode 20: Know Your Value with Simon Peter Domingo (Online Filipino Freelancers)

    We talked about identity.
    From Simon… to Paolo.

Kasi minsan, hindi skill ang kulang.
    Clarity.

    And hangga’t hindi malinaw yun,
    kahit anong opportunity dumaan…
    hindi mo rin mahahawakan.

    Sa freelancing, ganun talaga.

    You start small.
    You build experience.
You learn how to communicate what you can do.

    We also talked about this:

    Same effort.
    Magkaibang environment.
    Magkaibang bayad.

Kaya importante kung saan mo dinadala yung oras mo.

Kung gusto mong tumaas yung kita mo,
    hindi lang sipag ang kailangan.

    Skill.
    Communication.
    Positioning.

    Yan yung magtataas sayo.

And the truth is, nandyan na lahat.

    May tools.
    May community.
    May mentors.
    May access ka.

    Ang kulang lang talaga:

    Desisyon na mag-level up.

    So kung nandito ka ngayon,
    tanungin mo sarili mo:

Alam mo ba talaga yung value mo?

    Kasi once malinaw na yan…

    Iba na yung laro.

  • #19: Master Your Mind - Growth, Identity & Standing Back Up
    2026/03/18

This episode is personal for me.

Because I’ve seen the version of her na hirap huminga sa sarili niyang isip.

    And that’s scary.

Pero eto yung hindi naiintindihan ng karamihan…

    Hindi nawawala yung thoughts.

Ikaw yung nagbabago kung paano mo sila haharapin.

In this episode, I had the chance to guest one of my current coaching clients Ms. Dee Samonte to talk about what it really takes to take control of your mind:

    Not motivation.

    Not inspiration.

    But training.

    Training your breathing.

    Training your focus.

    Training your reactions.

    Training your identity.

Because at the end of the day,

What I’m proud of here is simple:

    Hindi lang siya nakinig.

    Kumilos siya.

    And that’s the difference.

    Maraming tao nakikinig.

    Konti lang yung gumagalaw.

    We also talked about:

paano i-reframe yung sarili mong thoughts

at paano mag-grow kahit paulit-ulit kang natatalo

    And one thing stood out:

The more she failed, the better she became.

    Ganun talaga.

    You go through it.

    You feel it.

    You deal with it.

    Then you rise from it.

    So kung nahihirapan ka ngayon…

Let me tell you this straight:

    Hindi ka mamamatay diyan.

Pero may version ka na kailangan mamatay

para lumabas yung mas malakas na ikaw.

And when that version comes out…

    Ibang laro na yun.

  • # 18 WHAT MY FATHER TAUGHT ME
    2026/03/11

Not everyone gets the chance to sit down with their parents and ask the questions that actually matter.

    No scripts.
    No prepared questions.
    Just a real conversation.

Pinag-usapan namin ang discipline, friendship, loyalty, parenting, health, aging, and the beliefs that shape a life.

But looking back now, ang daming bagay na na-imprint pala sakin just by watching my parents.

    Yung leadership.
    Yung stubbornness.
    Yung sense of responsibility.

There’s a quote that says, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
And habang tumatagal, mas naiintindihan ko kung bakit.

This episode is not about techniques.
    Hindi ito tungkol sa NLP.
Hindi ito tungkol sa mindset strategies.

This is about where those things started.

Kung may natutunan ako sa usapan na ito, it's this:

While you still have the chance, talk to your parents.
    Ask questions.
    Listen to their stories.

And you won’t be able to ask anymore.

  • #17 MAIN CHARACTER KA BA NG BUHAY MO?
    2026/02/27

In Episode 17, Ken-ken Somera and George Ramos break down what “main character” really means, not as “bida-bida,” but as ownership, clarity, and presence.

    We talk about:

    • Why self-focus isn’t automatically selfish

    • How people anchor happiness to other people (and why it hurts)

    • Why presence and confidence can be trained

    • How knowing yourself leads to better decisions and stronger boundaries

If you’re looking for change, start with one small step:
Five minutes. One question. One honest answer.

Salamat sa pakikinig. Kita kits sa next episode.

  • #16 "BUT WHY" (a Penguin Story review)
    2026/02/09

    “But why?” / "Pero.. Bakit?"

(ayan nilagyan ko na din ng tagalog)

    Episode #16

    SELF;TALK with Ken-ken Somera

This episode we discussed about the viral "Penguin" video na biglang humiwalay sa circle nya.

    Lahat sila papunta sa dagat,

    tapos siya,

    ayun.

    “but why?”

    At dun nabuo yung narrative

Biglang may possibleng drama. (depende din sa audio)

    Biglang parang may pinagdadaanan.

    Biglang parang may gustong takasan.

(based sa ibang mga reaction videos)

Pero what if… wala naman talaga?

What if normal lang yung nangyari, pero tayo yung naglagay ng meaning?

    In this episode, pinag-usapan namin:

Let's find learning with random videos lolz

    ~

    Listen~

Pause a bit and Relax your mind.

Remember to always ask better questions to yourself

  • #15 Confidence on Command
    2026/02/01

    Can Confidence be Programmed?

Self Talk with Ken-ken Somera Podcast

    Episode #15

We talked about how confidence is a state you can enter, interrupt, and rebuild. Kapag naintindihan mo kung paano gumagalaw ang focus mo, memories mo, at internal dialogue mo, mas nagiging madali na mag-shift from kaba to clarity.

I explained that this is more of my approach with NLP and why "Confidence on Command works by using awareness, memory, and repetition. Kapag marunong kang mag-access ng strong states from your past or even imagined futures, your subconscious starts responding differently.

Napag-usapan din namin kung bakit practice matters and how the subconscious learns through association and repetition. The more you practice entering a confident state, the more natural it becomes. Over time, your mind stops asking “kaya ko ba?” and starts moving straight into system and action.

This episode is for anyone who wants to understand confidence beyond surface behavior, and start working with how the mind actually processes pressure, focus, and performance.

If you’re curious how confidence can be programmed, trained, and activated from the inside out, this episode will help you see it in a deeper, more practical way.
