  • Michelle Hurn- The Dietitians Dilemma-From overcoming an eating disorder to Ultra marathon running
    2021/05/10

    Michelle Hurn is a Registered Dietician, an Ultra Marathon runner, S fuels athlete the author of The Dieticians Dilemma and low carb meat based diet advocate. While practicing inpatient and outpatient care in a hospital setting, Michelle noticed a disheartening connection between the high carbohydrate, low fat, sugar in moderation nutritional guidelines she was required to recommend as a licensed dietician , and the rapidly declining health of her patients.

    Michelle describes in her book the Dieticians Dilemma her battle with an eating disorder at the age of 16 and her journey back to health and what inspired her to become a Dietician. She also outlines how the current nutritional guidelines came to be and advocates a low carbohydrate , animal based way of eating as an option for people struggling with diabetes, mental disorders, sarcopenia, eating disorders and heart disease.

    In 2019 Michelle decided to try a LCHF animal based diet to help alleviate severe muscle pain and inflammation as well as anxiety she had experienced for decades. Much to Michelle's surprise her muscle pain and inflammation disappeared in a matter of weeks and her anxiety began to fade.

  • What inspired me to start my health Journey and how Journaling can help track your progress

    On todays Solocast I go into depth the steps and tools I used in the beginning of my health journey, what exactly was the tipping point that led me down the path of self healing 6 years ago. My struggles and ups and downs have truly taught me soo much and while it hasn't been easy I am able to look back and use what I've learned to help others troubleshoot ways that they can heal their bodies through eliminating certain foods and finding what works for them.

    I hope you enjoy and find value in this episode. My hope is that it gives you some ideas that you can use to start your health journey and lets you know that you are on the right path.
