  • How to Start your own Ultrasound Business with Jennifer Lindsey

    1- 7 minutes: Jennifer Lindseys story of how she started her ultrasound business.

    01:30: She is NOT a Sonographer, and she started her own ultrasound business.

    05:00 - They teach Echo ultrasounds and have an entire ultrasound machine business division.

    7 minutes - There are eight different business models people can create for ultrasound.

    9 minutes: Mobile ultrasound is the business model many clients like to start with.

    11- 14 minutes: Being set up with insurance as the provider

    12 minutes: Medicare classifies it as an Independent diagnostic testing facility (IDTF). Mobile or standing facility.

    17 minutes - Did you immediately buy the machines to start out?

    19- 21 minutes: Don’t market to the physician practice that has tons of patients, look at the physicians who have a certain number of patients you could do all their exams once a week

    22 minutes: $125 an hour per physician client a Sonographer can charge. $1,000 a day in revenue.

    23 - 24 minutes: Jennifer's tip from a mishap when they first bought their brand new ultrasound machines they can look back and laugh at now.

    26 - 29 minutes: Jennifer’s business partner can guide you where to purchase the ultrasound equipment from.

    29 minutes: The ultrasound equipment is very mobile to the point it can even sometimes fit in a suitcase.

    29:20- 32 minutes: Jennifer recommends ultrasound equipment to use.

    34 - 37 minutes: You have the ultrasound expertise already, if you have the entrepreneurial spirit this is right up your ally.

    37 - 39 minutes: find Sonographers with that entrepreneur spirit, and work for them

    39 - 45 minutes: Legal side of the business can be very expensive and it can cost you if you don’t know. No worries, with Jennifer's program you have a roadmap

    46 - 49 minutes: Radiologist vendors to read the exams or if your doing the exams for a specialist.

    50 minutes: If your making $125 an hour as a business owner what all other expenses do you need to be paying for?

    Welcome to Episode 3 of this Malone Healthcare travel Series

    On this episode we did a lot of jumping around and also ended up having some technical issues with the episode. The content still is great, and information is super helpful.

    Beginning of episode - 21 minutes: Vendors and recruiting company being one. Why?

    7 - 11 minutes: More money to the traveler working with smaller company because they have a lower overhead.

    8:50: Your more of a number to a bigger company

    10: Even if the owner of the recruiting company and vendor doesn’t make money on recruiting side they make money on vendor side.

    11 - 21 minutes: Skill checklists is the travelers time to shine. Brag on yourself for this checklist. There are a lot of different skill checklists.

    21:45 - 40 minutes: Healthcare License process

    22:45 - 23:10 minutes: 4 states you need to have a state specific license in for sonography.

    24:38 - minutes: State licenses seem to be money grabs

    26:40 - different licenses for different healthcare jobs and nursing compact.

    35:00: Licensing can be expensive but reimbursed for most states within reason of price.

    38:00: Ask the travel company to pay for the yearly license

    40 - 51 minutes: Hiring manager questions for interview are usually via phone
