The Bottom Line: If your diet is bad, a greens powder won’t save you. If you already eat well, it might give you an extra edge. But many greens powders on the market are overpriced and underdosed.

Before buying a greens powder, read the label and ask yourself—does this actually have meaningful doses of things that matter? If not, save your money.

EP 73 Shit my dad says and why you should take this seriously.

Dad sayings are not just words — they are memory-efficient life frameworks. MELFS. You remember them because they are short, emotionally charged, and repeated during formative moments.

Dads often have sayings because they're a way to impart wisdom, share experiences, and connect with their children, often using memorable phrases that become ingrained in family culture.

Sayings can be used to reinforce desired behaviors or discourage undesirable ones.

Why is shit your dad or even mum says important and how does this impact us as fathers?

    · Shared experiences, emotions, learning moments

  • Episode 72: EP 72 Do you use Supplements? Maybe you should listen to this.
    2025/04/09

EP 72 Do you use Supplements? Magic pills or Marketing hype?

Conventional wisdom - Eat a balanced diet. We don't, and as we age we process less efficienctly, and our environment means gaps. Stay informed on how to choose the right supplements, what to avoid, why dosing guidelineas are important, and what TGA registration, and ARTG listings actually mean. Reasons to avoid importing from overseas.

Are supplements then the key to better health or just a way to create expensive urine. Depends who you ask and there is a lot of noise out there.

In Australia 75% of households use them and the market is over $150bn.

Berberine has been used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for infections, gut health, and inflammation. But in modern science, it’s catching attention for blood sugar control, weight loss, and heart health.

  • Episode 69: EP 69: Gummies - Fad? Should you use them? Are they better or cheaper than the usual. Just the facts.
    2025/01/12

EP 69: Health Gummies - Fad? Should you use them? Are they better or cheaper than the usual. Just the facts.

All the rage, or never heard of them? Should I use them? We discuss.

We try to stay on top of the trends. We see "health" gummies creeping in more and more, with more and more ingredient options.

Vitamin gummies for kids have been around for a while. My first reaction was, "Let's rot their teeth a little more." What about gummies for adults?

Now we see them becoming mainstream, just maybe not as we know it. I'm talking THC gummies, which, if we look at search demand over the last year, are the highest, with demand in November 2024 jumping 70% per Google Trends. Creatine gummies went from zero (they didn't exist) earlier in the year to around 60% of THC gummy searches. But are they, as in gummies in general, any good as a delivery mechanism?

The things that come to mind:

    • How much is in them, i.e., the dose?
    • How much sugar or other nasties are in them? Does this vary by ingredient?
    • Limit? So if I want a bit of D, creatine, and, say, an iron gummy, three gummies daily? Is there a risk of overdose?
    • Are they cost-effective versus pills?

We look at the data and discuss it to keep you informed.
