  • Medical Menopause, Kerri's Journey Part 2

    In part 2 we continue to talk about Kerri's journey. This time the first subject is Monjaro, weight loss injection, and how Kerri used it to aid her reconstruction surgery from breast cancer.

    One of the many problems that Kerri has with her medical menopause is weight gain. We discuss what causes this within the menopause, what to look out for with external factors which can cause the menopause belly. You will find some useful tips and facts from research and also Sara's knowledge of working in women's health.

    Medical menopause is a subject that many don't know about. Either from hormonal medication, hysterectomies or in this case cancer can cause your body to go into full menopause.

    I am joined today by an amazing lady called Kerri. She kindly talks through her own journey from having breast cancer, her body developing ME and of course all those menopause symptoms added on top!!

    With also a small audience surrounding me whilst talking, I also have Carole making an appearance today.

    This podcast has a slight difference, Kerri lives in Wales, so we did the whole conversation via the phone.

    In part 2 both myself and Carole continue to chat about anxiety but this time with a slight difference. As usual in part 2 we have education, facts, tips (of what we either have tried or heard about), of course the food side, wouldn't be menopause dinners without it!     Today I am joined by Carole and together we have a real chat on how anxiety has affected us both through our menopause journey. We navigate through paralyzing anxiety, losing patience with family from the anxiety, panic attacks from allergic reactions.     Today's episode is on Vaginal Health, mainly focusing on things like Cystitis, dryness & change of shape. This is a taboo subject to talk about, most women find this quite difficult and therefore do not know if their symptoms are normal or not. With this in mind I would like to mention that my guest is 72 years old but even though she is not in the thick of her menopause, she still has some great advice regarding all of the three focuses for today.
