  • LH Corrals Coppell 27-19 | Coach Cory Campbell on the Win & Plano Next | The Boneyard
    2026/10/19

Lake Highlands beat Coppell 27-19, and Coach Cory Campbell joins Matt Mosley to break it down.

The Wildcats were down 7-0 early, playing into a 25-plus mph wind. The defense held Coppell to a field goal and kept LH in it. Franklon Evans Jr. broke a long run that settled everybody down. Then the defense played its best game of the year and held Coppell to 19, a season low for the Cowboys. Coach Campbell explains the fourth-and-15 call, how the special teams got cleaned up at halftime, and who earned players of the game.

Next up: Plano Senior High, Friday, Oct. 23, 7:00 p.m. at John Clark Field. Matt also digs into the LH–Plano history, from the first meeting at the old Greenville Avenue Stadium to LH’s first win at John Clark in 1990.

    Also in this episode:

    • Congratulations to team mom Libby Nicholson, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Team Mom of the Week
    • LH is now 3-0 in TV games

    2026/10/12

Lake Highlands handled J.J. Pearce 37-9. Next up is the biggest game of district play so far: a Friday night showdown with top-10 Coppell, with first place on the line.

From inside the MAC, Matt sits down with Coach to break down the Pearce win. They talk about the early deep shot to Conrad Ance and how the Wildcats went after man coverage on the outside. Coach also covers the special teams penalties he wants cleaned up before Friday. He gives an update on Thibodeau’s ankle, names the players of the game and shouts out the JV2 squad’s last-minute win over Plano West.

Then it’s on to Coppell. That means Coach Antonio Wiley’s disguised defensive fronts, a quarterback ranked among the best in the 2027 class, and a look back at the playoff meeting between these two programs. Kickoff is 7:00 Friday at the Boneyard. Get there early.

  • Lake Highlands 21, Plano East 14: Mr. Tibbs Takes Over | Berkner Next
    2026/09/21

Lake Highlands opens district play 1-0. The Wildcats ground out a 21-14 win at Plano East, and head coach Cory Campbell tells Matt Mosley the tough non-district schedule had a lot to do with it. Chris Thibodeaux, "Mr. Tibbs" on the radio call, finished with 11 catches for 177 yards and three touchdowns, and the defense played great all night.

Also in this one: two red-zone trips that came up empty because Campbell went for it instead of kicking, and his take on it: "We should have kicked both of them." Plus junior nose guard Jeremiah Lane's best game yet, how Conrad Ince and Mason Spangler keep Plano East's safeties deep, a sideline headset conversation that somehow reached the officials, the unsung hero of the week, and a scouting report on Berkner, the most athletic team Lake Highlands has seen so far.

District home opener: Lake Highlands vs. Berkner, Friday, Sept. 25, 7:00 p.m. at the Boneyard. The Wildcats go for 2-0 in district. Come out.

  • Cory Campbell on the Wylie Film: "My Mistakes" | Lake Ridge Next
    2026/09/08

Lake Highlands is 1-1 after a 41-26 loss at Wylie, and head coach Cory Campbell doesn't dress it up: three turnovers, bad first-down efficiency, and a defense that forced six punts and gave up six touchdown drives. Matt Mosley gets him on the record about the honest Monday film session — "coaches' mistakes, my mistakes, players' mistakes" — before homecoming week against a Mansfield Lake Ridge team carrying seven Division I players.

Also in this one: an injury read on quarterback John Cothern, why five sophomores on the field is the real story of Friday night, the two red-zone drives that produced nothing, Cam Harper getting tripped up at the four, and a 20-year Lake Highlands Middle School fixture finally coming up the hill.

Kickoff is 7:30 Friday night at the Boneyard. Homecoming. Come out.
