  • Why Do We Feel Like We Have to Answer Everyone Immediately?
    2026/09/03

Your phone rings. A text comes in. Your boss messages after work. A family member sees that you read their message.

And suddenly you feel like you have to respond. But why?

In this episode of the Health, Tech & Wellness Podcast, Crystal and I talk about something that's become completely normal: being available to everyone, all the time.

We remember when leaving the house actually meant being unreachable. There were no texts waiting in your pocket, no read receipts, no work emails following you home, and no expectation that because someone can reach you, they deserve an immediate response.

Crystal has gotten surprisingly good at putting her phone away completely. I... have some work to do. 😂

We talk about setting boundaries with work, family, customers and even ourselves, why simply seeing a notification can create pressure to respond, and how technology that's supposed to make our lives easier can leave us feeling permanently on call.

Crystal also shares why physically putting her phone away has been one of the best changes she's made for her sleep, relationships and sanity.

Look at your phone and ask yourself:

What has access to me that probably doesn't need unlimited access to me?

Pick one notification, one app, or one boundary and change it. Technology should make life easier, not make you feel like everyone deserves access to you 24/7.

  • Too Busy to Take a Break? Try This Instead (The Power of Micro-Breaks)
    2026/08/27

What if taking better care of yourself didn’t require an hour at the gym, an afternoon off, or a week-long vacation?

Sometimes, you just need five minutes.

In this episode of the Health, Tech & Wellness Podcast, John Adams and Crystal Nevedale talk about something they’re both dealing with in real time: what happens when life and work are going great, but you’re moving so fast that taking care of yourself starts slipping through the cracks.

We tend to think a “break” has to mean stopping everything. But when you’re in a busy season, that often isn’t realistic. So instead of waiting for the perfect opportunity to recharge, John and Crystal explore the power of micro-breaks, small intentional moments that can help you step away, reset, and come back with a little more clarity.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • Why being busy with GOOD things can still lead to burnout
    • The trap of thinking self-care has to be all or nothing
    • Why simply stopping and breathing for a moment can matter
    • The 20-20-20 rule for giving your eyes a break from screens
    • How hyperfocus can make stepping away harder
    • Why we sometimes accidentally turn our “breaks” into more work
    • Finding the smallest version of self-care you can actually sustain
    • Giving yourself permission to stop without feeling guilty

  • Stop Feeling Guilty for Resting (Comfort Culture)
    2026/08/20

Feel guilty for rewatching the same show, reaching for your favorite comfort food, or doing absolutely nothing? Those moments may not be wasted time, they may be exactly the reset you need.

This week on the Health Tech and Wellness Podcast, John Adams and Crystal Nevidale pull back the curtain on their favorite comfort rituals, from The Big Bang Theory, Buckeyes, and mood-changing music to dancing, doodling, motivational speeches, and the perfect zero-obligation day.

    In this episode:

    • Why familiar shows feel so comforting
    • The foods and songs that instantly lift our mood
    • Simple hobbies that help quiet the mind

  • Kendall Breitman on Success, Balance & Finding a Life Beyond Your Career
    2026/08/13

Who are you when you peel back the job title, the career, and everything people know you for?

This week on the Health, Tech & Wellness Podcast, Crystal and I sit down with Kendall Breitman, Head of Community at Riverside, for a conversation I've wanted to have for a long time.

Kendall opens up about balancing an always-connected career with being a wife and mom, learning when to switch off, recognizing overwhelm before it becomes burnout, and why she believes creating something you genuinely love matters more than chasing views or sponsorships. We also talk about her journey from political journalism to community building, leaving behind a career that looked successful from the outside, moving across the world for love, and completely redefining what success meant to her.

This is a conversation about people.

Kendall, thank you again for trusting us with your story and for being the perfect first guest for Crystal and I.

  • Would YOU Try These Viral Health Trends? (Mouth Taping, Cold Plunges & More!)
    2026/08/06

Would you tape your mouth shut while you sleep? Jump into freezing water every morning? Walk barefoot outside to "ground" yourself?

In this week's episode of the Health, Tech & Wellness Podcast, Crystal and I decided to take a break from the heavier conversations and have a little fun.

We're reacting to some of today's biggest viral wellness trends, sharing our completely honest first impressions, personal experiences, and a few laughs along the way.

    This isn't medical advice.

We're not telling you what you should or shouldn't do.

It's simply two friends having an honest conversation about the health trends everyone seems to be talking about.

    In this episode we discuss:

    Mouth Taping
    Cold Plunges
    Grounding (Earthing)
    Dry Scooping Protein Powder

  • Why We Say “I’m Fine” When We’re Really Not
    2026/07/30

How many times has someone asked, “How are you doing?” and you answered, “I’m fine” even when you were anything but fine?

We all carry things other people can’t see. Grief. Stress. Anxiety. Financial pressure. Physical pain. Family struggles. Sometimes it’s something we’ve carried for years without telling anyone.

In this episode of the Health, Tech & Wellness Podcast, Crystal and I talk about that invisible load and why so many of us feel the need to pretend everything is okay.

We talk about the fear of looking weak, not wanting to burden other people, knowing who you can actually trust with your struggles, and how social media can make it seem like everyone else has life figured out.

I also share more of my own experience with depression and the unexpected conversation with a stranger that became a turning point in my life.

And sometimes opening up doesn’t mean telling someone your entire life story.

Sometimes it can simply mean saying:

“No. I’m actually not okay today.”

Maybe you need someone to listen. Maybe you need to call someone you trust. Or maybe you just need a hug.

Whatever you're carrying, you don't always have to carry it alone.

If this conversation resonates with you, share it with someone who might need to hear it.

  • Why You're Not Grieving Wrong (How to Deal with Grief & Loss)
    2026/07/23

Have you ever wondered… "Why am I not grieving the way I think I should?" You're not alone.

In this episode of the Health, Tech & Wellness Podcast, John Adams and Crystal Nevedale have an honest conversation about grief, loss, and why there is no "correct" way to grieve.

From losing parents and children to saying goodbye to loved ones and dealing with unexpected loss, we share personal experiences and talk about what actually helps when someone is grieving.

    You'll learn:

    • Why grief looks different for everyone

    • Why the "five stages of grief" don't tell the whole story

    • How to support someone who has lost a loved one

    • Why comparing grief can actually make things harder

    • How to stop feeling guilty about the way you grieve

    If you're grieving, know this:

    You're not broken.

    You're not grieving wrong.

    You're human.

  • When Life Gets Busy… Don’t Lose Yourself
    2026/07/16

Life doesn’t slow down just because we’re trying to take better care of ourselves.

After taking a few weeks away from the podcast, John and Crystal are back with an honest conversation about what happens when life gets busy.

Between running a business, caring for family, building new opportunities, and navigating life’s unexpected challenges, it’s easy to let our own health and relationships fall to the bottom of the list.

In this episode we talk about:

✅ Finding balance during life’s busiest seasons

✅ Why your body eventually forces you to slow down

✅ Small habits that help you stay grounded

✅ The importance of showing up even when life feels messy

✅ Why commitment is choosing priorities over excuses

This isn’t a conversation about having everything figured out.

It’s a conversation about learning not to lose yourself while you’re building the life you want.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, stretched too thin, or like you’re constantly putting yourself last, this episode is for you.
