  • Dirtbag Baby (Emotional Vocab. Part 2)
    2023/01/21

Continuing on from our last episode detailing emotional vocabulary (or the lack thereof) in children, Shae continues on to propose the idea in regard to teenagers and their "angst". This episode focuses less on the adults' role in teaching children and, drawing from Shae's own experience, more on the vision of: 'What might teenagehood look like if they had well-established emotional vocabulary?'

  • Hate Me!
    2022/12/24

Hatred! It terrifies, doesn't it? What if it didn't have to?

After a short break to really hang in the vulnerability of the last episode, we delve into hatred and how it feels, what it means, and what danger it actually implies. In the process of this half-baked rambling Shae hopes that it helps you feel safer in your own emotions and helps you to ask yourself the right questions (as an xmas gift to yourself ofc)!

    2022/11/26

While acknowledging the dangers of medication, we also want to acknowledge the benefit that it can have and the safety it can provide a person. Shae shares personal insight into her journey of depression and medication in hopes that it can make you feel less alone.

This conversation does involve mention of suicide et al. so is prefaced by a trigger warning. Please do not listen to this episode if you are not prepared for heavy and deeply personal topics. Please do take proper steps to ensure that you feel safe after the fact if you do choose to listen alone!

  • All in My Feelings, All the Time. Wbu?
    2022/10/29

Welcome back to the Half-Baked Podcast where we hone in on the topic of sensitivity. What are the confines of being 'sensitive' and what if you do not follow in line with that image?

Shae proposes sensitivity as strength, communication, and bravery, and highlights how patronizing its common usage can be by categorizing the patronizers as 'insensitive people' for the sake of discussion.
