What does it really mean to become a Jesus Church?

In Matthew 16:13–21, Jesus makes a powerful promise: “I will build my church.” The church isn’t ultimately built by programs, buildings, leaders, or human effort. Jesus is the builder, Jesus is the foundation, and Jesus is the one transforming His people to become more like Him.

What does it look like to trust God when He asks you to surrender what matters most?

In Genesis 22, Abraham faces the greatest test of his faith when God asks him to place Isaac—the son connected to every promise God had given him—on the altar. Through Abraham’s story, we see what a life of faith ultimately requires: surrendering our fear, our need for control, our own strategies, and even the future we imagined.

But Abraham’s story also points us to something greater. Just as God provided the sacrifice for Abraham, He has provided the ultimate sacrifice for us through Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we can approach God with confidence and trust Him even when we cannot understand what He is doing.

Faith doesn’t mean having every answer. It means trusting the God who does.

How does God see you when you’ve failed?

Abraham is remembered as a man of incredible faith, but his life was also filled with fear, doubt, mistakes, and moments when he tried to take God’s plan into his own hands. Yet Scripture says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

What happens when your faith is put under pressure?

In Daniel 6, Daniel faced a choice: protect himself or remain faithful to God. But his response in the crisis wasn’t something he invented in the moment. Daniel had spent a lifetime building habits of prayer, integrity, and obedience. When the pressure came, he simply continued doing what he had always done.

What happens when obeying God comes with a cost?

In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were commanded to bow before King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image. Refusing could cost them their lives, but their confidence in God was greater than their fear of the king.

They knew God was able to rescue them from the fiery furnace. But even if He chose not to, they would remain faithful.

Their obedience was not a transaction built on what God might do for them. It was a conviction rooted in who God is. He was worthy of their trust and obedience, regardless of the outcome.

Trials will come, but we do not walk through them alone. The same God who met these three men in the fire is faithful to walk with us through every trial we face. Because God is faithful, we can obey Him confidently—even when everyone else bows.
