If you're wondering how to stop comparing your podcast to other podcasters, one thing you have to understand is that everybody is on a different journey. Someone else's equipment, studio, confidence, or experience doesn't mean your podcast isn't working.

I've caught myself doing this.

I would get around podcasters who had been doing this longer than me and start looking at their equipment, their studios, and how good they sounded.

Eventually, I realized I wasn't necessarily doubting my podcast.

I was comparing my podcast.

In this episode, I talk about what changed when I stopped looking at other podcasters as competition and started looking at them as people I could learn from.

After producing 893 podcast episodes, I've had a lot of practice. I've made mistakes. I've changed equipment. I've asked questions. I've learned from other people. I've had recordings where things went wrong and I had to figure out what happened.

That's part of the journey.

Your audience can tell you a lot about what they need, but you have to listen, ask better questions, process the feedback, and determine what makes sense to apply.
