• The System Behind My Podcast Growth Plan | With Terryl Humphrey | Ep #373
    2026/02/19

In this episode of the Failure Is Knowledge Podcast, Terryl Humphrey explains why he is starting a ninety-day challenge to build a podcast production business and document the process from day one.

He shares the failure of trying this challenge multiple times, what it cost him, and why he kept second-guessing himself.

He explains the shift that happened when he stopped treating podcasting like “just content creation” and started seeing the podcast as a way to build relationships, increase touch points, and help podcasters grow their audience through a consistent system.

Terryl breaks down what he is focusing on during the challenge: podcast, webinars (online training), and social media, plus consistent follow-ups.

He talks about the sales process, how a sixty-minute conversation on a podcast can help people “know, like, and trust” you, and why consistent communication matters.

This episode is for podcasters, business owners, and thought leaders who want a clearer plan for staying consistent and understanding what happens after you press record.

Terryl also shares parts of his story, including being from Little Rock, Arkansas, joining the Marine Corps, and how he learned to keep showing up.

If you’re searching for podcast consistency, podcast growth, podcast production business, touch points, or building relationships through podcasting, this episode shares the real mindset and system behind the ninety-day challenge.

  • How 894 Episodes Taught Me to Keep Showing Up | With Terryl Humphrey | Ep #372
    2026/02/18

In this episode of the Failure Is Knowledge Podcast, Terryl Humphrey talks about the importance of consistency and why “consistency always wins.”

Terryl shares how he started “half a decade ago,” showing up every day even when “nobody was reaching out,” and how that process built skill, confidence, and momentum over time.

He explains the failure of expecting instant results, what it costs when you stop early, and how a shift in focus changes everything.

This episode includes Terryl’s perspective on why “ninety percent of podcasts” stop at “episode number three,” why “only ten percent get to episode number twenty,” and why “the gratification is not instant.” He also connects consistency to focus, breathing, and discipline with a Marine Corps range example, and explains the difference between being proactive and reactive in business.

If you are a thought leader, entrepreneur, or podcaster trying to grow your audience, this episode breaks down why results come after repetition, why every audience member counts, and why showing up when “no one is there” is where consistency is built.

  • The Moment I Didn’t Record (And Lost) | With Terryl Humphrey | Ep #371
    2026/02/17

In this episode of the Failure Is Knowledge Podcast, Terryl Humphrey discusses the importance of capturing the moment in business, podcasting, and personal growth.

He explains a failure that occurred during an in-person podcast recording when the microphone died after three minutes and seventeen seconds.

The conversation continued, but the sound was completely off. The moment was captured visually, but not with the right tools and preparation. That experience reinforced the cost of not being fully prepared and the importance of documentation.

Terryl describes how capturing the moment is more than content creation. It is documentation. It is building your story. From recording a cooking YouTube channel years ago, to appearing on KATV news in Little Rock, Arkansas, to producing over 893 podcast episodes, he explains how documenting moments builds connection, awareness, and business growth.

This episode explores podcast production, storytelling in marketing, audience growth, business development, personal discipline, and choosing your starting point.

Entrepreneurs, thought leaders, podcasters, and business owners will gain perspective on how moments create opportunity when they are documented with the right tools, skills, and mindset.

    2026/02/16

In this episode of the Failure Is Knowledge Podcast, Steven, the writer behind Unemployed Value Degen on Substack, discusses mispriced stocks, research, and how disagreement creates opportunity in the market.

He explains a failure moment that hit when he went from being a university professor to filling out job applications and feeling burned out.

He describes what that process cost him, and how writing on Substack “just for fun” led to a shift after his third article got retweeted and “fifteen thousand people saw it.” He explains how that shift turned into results, including building subscribers and writing for readers across places like Tampa, Maine, and even Kazakhstan.

This episode explores topics such as econometrics, investing basics, dividend-paying stocks, risk and reward, and what research is like climbing a “watch tower” to see farther than other people.

Steven also explains why he thinks “the price is wrong” when the market prices in no growth, and why he believes investing is “a positive sum game.”

If you’re searching for insights on mispriced stocks, dividend stocks, research, and how people disagree about the future, this episode provides a grounded, experience-based perspective.

During the conversation, Terryl explains that he did not initially recognize the importance of production. The failure was not understanding how angles, camera switches, and perspective impact engagement.

What it cost him was time spent recording and editing without fully understanding how production keeps people’s attention.

He describes the shift that occurred when he noticed the multiple camera angles used during the Super Bowl, how different perspectives make the experience more entertaining and engaging for the audience. He realized that production is not just about recording a video.

It is about intentional angles, transitions, editing, and keeping the audience engaged.

  • The Shift That Made Business Make Sense | with Terryl Humphrey | Ep #367
    2026/02/13

In this episode of the Failure is Knowledge Podcast, Terryl Humphrey explains how to eliminate self doubt and build real confidence as a thought leader, business owner, entrepreneur, or leader who is trying to grow.

During the conversation, Terryl breaks down why self-doubt often shows up when you do not fully understand what you are doing.

He explains that self doubt is connected to a lack of education—not necessarily a lack of a degree—but a lack of perspective, understanding, and applied knowledge.

He shares personal experiences from business, real estate, school, the Marine Corps, and building a podcast production company to show how learning the right information changed his confidence.

The episode explores how education is more than formal schooling. It includes reading books like Rich Dad Poor Dad, learning sales, marketing, operations, finances, leadership, and team development, and most importantly, applying the information.

Terryl explains that learning without application does not build confidence. Application creates experience. Experience creates perspective. Perspective builds confidence.

He also discusses the importance of seeking mentors, asking questions without fear of judgment, and surrounding yourself with people who have accomplished what you are trying to achieve.

The episode reinforces that eliminating self doubt requires willingness to learn, consistent education, daily application, and guidance from experienced mentors.

Listeners will better understand how self-doubt develops, how confidence is built through education and action, and how failure can become knowledge when you choose to learn from it instead of avoiding it.

  • Why “Your Story Is Not for You” | with Terryl Humphrey and Robert Kennedy | Ep #366
    2026/02/12

In this episode of the Failure Is Knowledge Podcast, Robert Kennedy explains why he named his company Kinetic Communications—connecting kinetic energy (movement) with his last name, and how his work focuses on moving people “from where they are right now to their desired state.”

Robert shares how he went from working in the mental health industry to becoming a science teacher, then starting businesses while teaching—including an online music promotions portal and a web development company building websites for independent artists who didn’t have an online presence.

He explains that he wanted the freedom to control his schedule, but also had to learn business by seeking education through books, research, and relationships.

The conversation follows a failure arc where Robert describes moving and then losing his job ten days after arriving in Maryland, with three children under the age of five.

He shares how that moment made him feel like he let his family down, and how it pushed him into contracting, building an e-learning company, scaling too quickly, and experiencing hard lessons—including being sued—while continuing to evaluate what happened and apply what he learned.

Robert also breaks down confidence as “repetition with the expectation of success,” explains how to handle nerves before speaking, and why he tells people to stop being hypercritical about things others already accept.

He closes by defining Failure is Knowledge as failures being feedback—information you can capture and apply to your next steps.
