  • One Breath, One Moment and One Day at a Time

    Joyce and her husband owned a record store and head shop. She was also in a band that opened for to go-go's and meatloaf. So naturally she was around booze and pot all the time. So she would drink and smoke whenever she wanted and it never seemed like an issue She would get black out drunk regularly but know one noticed her slipping down hill. Eventually she wanted to have an open marriage, which her husband agreed to. She fell in love and had her lover, who was an alcoholic into her home with her daughters, husband and dogs. She admits this was not they way she was raised or the values she was taught. The situation was chaotic to say the least because Joyce was always trying to keep her lovers drinking to a minimum. Then she started going to Al-Anon, which was a blessing. After awhile she realized she had a problem herself and started going to AA as well. Now she is almost 35 years sober, that's right 35 years!   • The Fighter

    Fred was on the brink of becoming an MMA fighter. He had an injury resulting in a large prescription of opiates. After that he became addicted and subsequently ended up doing whatever he could to feed his habit. His addiction led him to an 8 year prison sentence, where he got sober.     Kat grew up in a small town where addiction was not talked about and hidden behind closed doors. After her Mother tragically passed from drinking and driving when she was 18 she realized that there was secret generational addiction on her maternal side. She never really thpught of herself as an addict herself because she did not drink everyday nor did it affect her life negatively. During the Pandemic she had someone threaten to leave her if she did not quit drinking. At first she got sober for someone else but now its for her. She is almost 3 years sober and has broken the generational cycle. She is a very strong and inspirational women.

Everyone else turned their backs on her Mom she got closer, trying to always make sure she wass okay. She is the most caring and empathetic person I have ever met. Her story is a true story of love. Her story is powerful and needs to be heard.
