Benedicta Chukwuyem Apuamah is a Nigerian-trained pharmacist, global health expert, and passionate advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With over five years of program management experience, she has contributed to projects funded by The Global Fund and the CDC, collaborating with organizations such as Management Sciences for Health, the United Nations, and SOS Children’s Villages International.
In 2017 and 2018, Benedicta served as a ONE Champion, representing Nigeria and Africa at the ONE Youth Summit in Brussels, where her presentation earned a standing ovation from the then ONE.org CEO Gayle Smith. She further honed her leadership skills as the chairperson of the Reproductive Health Caucus at the Tanzania International Model UN in 2019 and was recognized as a delegate at the Global Engagement Summit in Chicago in 2020.
She earned her Master’s degree in International Health and Social Management with distinction in 2023 from the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), supported by the Ban Ki-moon and One World (AAI Salzburg) Scholarships for her SDG advocacy. That same year, she interned with the UNODC HRMS team in Vienna, contributing to innovation projects.
In 2024, Benedicta won the Science Speed Talks Contest at the Geneva Health Forum for her outstanding public speaking skills. She is the founder of Girls for Development Goals Foundation, driving community health initiatives in Nigeria, and currently works at MCI as a Project Assistant with the Ulysseus European University Alliance team. Benedicta resides in Austria with her family and remains committed to creating lasting global impact.
