  • Trusting God When Your House Burns Down And Your Passive Income Stops with Steve Petermeyer
    2024/06/03

PRESENTED BY PROCLAIM PODCASTING - Podcast Editing for Christian Coaches and Entrepreneurs: https://proclaimpodcasting.com

Steve Petermeyer has been in real estate for over 30 years, including as the owner of a Keller Williams Franchise. He’s also a coach, a construction consultant, and volunteer with Young Life. He’s a husband, father, and has been absolutely instrumental in the lives of many young men, myself included, when it comes to defeating the lies of the enemy and living in God’s Truth.

He walks us through what it was like to start a real estate franchise in 2007 (not fun), have your house burn down, have your retirement income stop completely, and have to TRULY rely on God for all things at a time when most people are slowing down.

    We talk about:

1:21 Steve’s transition from ministry to real estate

7:34 The quest for passive income, and buying a real estate franchise in 2007 (ouch)

    12:11 Firing yourself

    15:55 House burns down

18:54 God’s hand in bringing opportunity in surprising ways

21:26 “I thought this was our retirement?!”

25:32 Living in the unknown and trusting God

30:12 What’s keeping us from living in THE TRUTH?

38:27 The two worldviews: Kingdom and Empire

42:59 The only thing you need to know about starting a new business

  • 6 Figure Etsy Store in 10 Hours/Week with Joey Kuhlow
    2024/05/27

PRESENTED BY PROCLAIM PODCASTING - Podcast Editing for Christian Coaches and Entrepreneurs: https://proclaimpodcasting.com

Joey Kuhlow is a husband, father of 5, and entrepreneur who built his own home and supports his family with his Etsy store selling unique, handmade jewelry. But he’s not an artistic idealist, willing to do anything as long as he’s able to make “his” art! His hourly rate is insane, he can work as little as 10 hours/week, and he’s shown a remarkable consistency after a decade of selling online.

We discuss the nitty gritty details of selling handmade goods on Etsy, while discussing why he doesn’t care about scaling, how he’s involving his kids, and what real income really means.

    We talk about:

0:22 Who is Joey and what is DremeWorks?

    5:18 Profit-first art

9:29 Progression through a decade in business

16:46 Working diligently and prioritizing family

22:58 Scaling and incorporating kids into the business

33:41 Ins and outs of Etsy

41:52 Being a Christian on a liberal platform

    46:27 Final thoughts

  • $150K Christian Influencer Shares The “Dark Side” Of The Business with Brendan Schmidt
    2024/05/20

PRESENTED BY PROCLAIM PODCASTING - Podcast Editing for Christian Coaches and Entrepreneurs: https://proclaimpodcasting.com

Brendan Schmidt is the founder of Masculine Revival, a business that started as an Instagram page and quickly grew into a full-time income helping men through coaching and men’s group programs.

Brendan and Curt talk about the logistical, business side of things, including how Brendan makes $150K/year, but then spend a lot of time talking about the “dark side” of being an influencer.

This is a conversation that is happening behind closed doors between people who are feeling the weight of being in such an unnatural position, but this is maybe the first time a conversation like this has been shared publicly.

There’s a larger conversation around social media, coaching as a profession (especially when you’re helping Christians), and how to balance being an influencer and staying humble and focused on what’s most important, so consider this the introduction to an important topic.

    We talk about:

1:29 The story of Masculine Revival

4:42 One platform focus and messaging on IG

    8:41 The energy-driven business structure

14:16 Can you just be a mission-driven “purist” as an entrepreneur?

21:34 The faith to walk away from business?

22:40 Becoming a Christian, pivoting business, questioning everything

27:18 The bizarre weight and conflict of being a Christian influencer

36:20 Don’t make the business the be all, end all

45:48 More time for local community?

    7:01 Identity and depression

9:58 Opening and selling a profitable Crossfit gym in 18 months
