【総評】
総再生時間70時間48分という圧倒的なボリュームですが、シャーロック・ホームズの全聖典を当時の発表順に体験できる、まさに決定版と言えるコレクションです。長丁場ゆえに、時には集中力が切れたり聞き直したりすることもありましたが、最後まで聴き終えた時の達成感と充足感はひとしおです。

【ナレーションについて】
ナレーターのチャールトン・グリフィンによる朗読は非常に格調高く、作品の世界観に見事にマッチしています。
特に主人公であるホームズとワトソンの二人の台詞や地の文は、非常にクリアで聞き取りやすく、長時間のリスニングでも耳が疲れにくい安定感があります。

一方で、1人マルチキャストで演じ分けているため、登場人物の階層や訛り、役柄（特に癖のある脇役など）によっては、発声の仕方の違いからやや聞き取りにくさを感じる場面もありました。しかし、それもまたオーディオブックならではの臨場感やキャラクターの個性の表現として楽しむことができます。

【おすすめの聴き方】
とにかく長い作品なので、一度にすべてを理解しようとせず、わからない部分は気軽に巻き戻しながら、自分のペースでじっくりとベーカー街の空気に浸るのがおすすめです。洋書のオーディオブックにおける一つの到達点として、文句なしに星5つを贈ります。
