Up here in the wind rip and the nine month winter, between the pines and the aspens and the hollows and the cliffs, there are some who have chosen to hide out, to call these high alpine hills and valleys home. This Poem is about the art of cold swimming, and it is an art. You need eventually to be able to breath properly, and pace yourself in cold water, timing is all important, observing the seasons as to how much your 'own' body may take. We're all built differently, some of us have seal skin ;) others paper. But we can all enter cold water for our own purification and enjoyment and that feeling of being blessed.
