Have you ever wanted to jump into a big muddy puddle? When did you last see a muddy puddle?

We explore the relationship with how the climate is impacting the vineyard. We are excited to hear about Romaine and Justine's own experiences of owning and working a vineyard in Saint Lambert du Lattay.

The Elders say 'A great vintage is a drought on an excess of rain' so maybe Romaine and Justine can expect a great vintage from 2026. How will they adapt to the continuing heatwaves and where might they look for inspiration to learn?

Back to muddy puddles- we examine the connection we have with nature. This is known as 'Biophilia'- a deep relationship we have with life and nature and link this to working in the vineyard.

Camille and Pierre, negotiant winemakers in Loire Valley created Osmose. They make wines that are honest and alive.

In this episode, I speak with Jeanne Bobinet, the Great grandaughter of Ida and the daughter of the wine maker, Sebastien Bobinet. Jeanne shares the story of Ida and George and how they met and the challenges they faced during the first World War.

Growing up as a wine maker's daughter, she tells us from her perspective how challenging it can be when the vines are your life and livelihood. The sacrifices people make and the love and passion they have for treating the land with respect.

Jeanne brings us up to date with the Calvez-Bobinet Natural Wine Estate and the work that her step mother, Emeline Calvez has put in over the years to establish the Estate as a producer of creative and delicious, natural wines. One of the first Orange wines to be made from the grape, Chenin Blanc. This wine is a tribute to Ida and the vivacious and strong female figure that she was.

I hope you will enjoy listening to this episode and to feel inspired to go and visit the Loire Valley and the region of Saumur, especially to the Calvez-Bobinet Estate itself, where you can have a tour of the Vines and the Caves carved from the Tuffeau Limestone.

I heard Rachel Lee on The Wine Blast Podcast, talking about how pleasurable it is to share a glass of wine with friends. I got in touch and voila, we made this episode together. Her journey began high up in the Pyrenees on a family holiday with clouds and a goat for company.

We meet Parissa, a nomad female winemaker. She is based in Frome in Somerset where she runs the Rye Wine Bar with her partner, Jack Lewens. Parissa shares with us the challenges of being a winemaker in the UK with the changing climate and her journey into working in the wine industry. It's a fascinating story and one to be enjoyed with a glass of something cool and delicious, hopefully a glass of Parissa's Pinot Noir, 'From Paris'.

Parissa touches on her own dyslexia and I share a bit about my own AuDHD (Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Not liking that word- disorder; we both individually share how it's actually a strength and not a deficit. This is a personal story and represents our individual opinions only.
