In this episode, I speak with Jeanne Bobinet, the Great grandaughter of Ida and the daughter of the wine maker, Sebastien Bobinet. Jeanne shares the story of Ida and George and how they met and the challenges they faced during the first World War.

Growing up as a wine maker's daughter, she tells us from her perspective how challenging it can be when the vines are your life and livelihood. The sacrifices people make and the love and passion they have for treating the land with respect.

Jeanne brings us up to date with the Calvez-Bobinet Natural Wine Estate and the work that her step mother, Emeline Calvez has put in over the years to establish the Estate as a producer of creative and delicious, natural wines. One of the first Orange wines to be made from the grape, Chenin Blanc. This wine is a tribute to Ida and the vivacious and strong female figure that she was.
