What if surviving breast cancer didn’t mean putting your dreams, your body, or your plans for motherhood on hold?

In this episode of the Welloff Podcast, Gina and Dr. Tara sit down with Anna Crollman, Brand & Marketing Manager at CAKES body, breast cancer survivor, advocate, and the woman behind @mycancerchic on Social Media.

Anna shares her breast cancer journey, including something so many young women facing hormone-positive breast cancer worry about: motherhood. She talks honestly about navigating a breast cancer diagnosis while still wanting children, and how she was able to become a mom after treatment.

Her story doesn’t stop with surviving cancer. Anna started putting herself out there on social media, sharing her experience and becoming an advocate for other women. That’s when CAKES body, a female-founded company creating innovative solutions for women’s bodies while supporting women’s health causes, came into the picture. CAKES has been deeply inspired by the breast cancer community and continues to develop products and initiatives that give women more comfort, confidence and choice.

Anna was asked to get involved with the brand. Then she did something even bigger: she pitched them on her dream job.

And now? She’s the Brand & Marketing Manager.

This conversation is about so much more than breast cancer. It’s about motherhood, confidence, advocacy, finding your voice, putting yourself out there, asking for what you want and having the courage to dream bigger.

Because if you don’t tell people what you want, how will they ever know?

Anna is proof that your diagnosis can become part of your story without becoming the whole story. And sometimes, the next chapter starts when you decide to ask for it.

Episode Sponsored by New HERizon Coaching with Dr. Tara

On this episode of The Welloff Podcast, Connecticut content creator, mother, and founder of the Reheated Coffee Club, Ellie Doyle, opens up about betting on herself, embracing her authenticity, and building a name for herself in a space that didn’t always make sense to the people closest to her.

Ellie’s journey has been anything but conventional. The daughter of a Bolivian immigrant father who valued stability and a traditional career, she faced plenty of doubt as she built her career online and eventually moved her family to Connecticut. But she trusted herself, leaned into who she really is, and turned her personality and perspective into a thriving content career.

Now, as a recently divorced single mom, Ellie is navigating an entirely new chapter. She gets real about starting over, motherhood, dating, divorce, finding yourself again, and figuring out what life looks like when the plan you had is no longer the plan you’re living.

It’s a conversation about authenticity, reinvention, motherhood, and having the courage to build a life that actually feels like your own.

  • S4 E79: Behind the Broadcast: Kimberly Buk on Success, Loss, & Mental Health
    2026/09/23

    Send us Fan Mail

She was getting paid $10 a day at her first internship. She showed up every single day anyway. That mindset helped launch a career that would take her from a major New York network to two Emmy Awards and eventually to building a business of her own.

This week on Welloff, Gina Simm and Dr. Tara sit down with two time Emmy Award winning journalist Kimberly Buk, founder of KJ Media and Consulting and co- founder of Elevate Leadership.

Kimberly shares what it really takes to break into broadcast journalism, why she walked away from full time anchor roles to build her own path, and how she went from intern to entrepreneur, working with clients like News 12 New Jersey, leading public speaking workshops and MCing more than 40 events a year.

She also opens up about balancing life as a journalist, entrepreneur and first time mom, and the pressure that comes with always being the person who has it together.

Then the conversation takes a deeply personal turn. Kimberly shares the heartbreaking story of losing her friend Dave to suicide and why she and co founder Jeff Massone are dedicating part of their upcoming Elevate Leadership conference to an important conversation about mental health and the struggles people can hide behind a smile.

It’s an honest conversation about ambition, reinvention, motherhood, grief and the reminder that you never really know what someone else is carrying.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
