The Journey Behind Building a Wellness Business - Jason Ayala | Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast - Eddie Tranzcendent
    2026/10/12

In this episode, I sit down with Jason Ayala, LMT, LE, and owner of It Is Wellness Holistic Health, for a laid-back, open conversation that takes us in several different directions — and that’s exactly what makes it special!Jason opens up about his journey into the wellness industry, sharing what inspired him to become a doula and a licensed esthetician. We explore his experiences across these different fields, the lessons he’s learned along the way, and what it takes to build a career centered around helping others. We also get real about the entrepreneurial side of his journey, including the ups and downs of subleasing in different locations, some of the challenges and less-than-ideal experiences he encountered, and the valuable lessons he took away from those situations. Jason shares advice for other business owners considering subleasing, along with what it means to finally find a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and at home in your business. His experience in his current location, with a landlord he describes as nothing short of amazing, is a reminder of just how much the right environment can make a difference. But beyond the individual topics, this episode represents something I want to explore more on the podcast: real conversations without a script, a strict agenda, or a predetermined direction. Just two people sitting down, sharing experiences, exchanging perspectives, and allowing the conversation to unfold naturally. Sometimes, those are the conversations that lead to the most interesting insights!Whether you’re interested in holistic wellness, massage therapy, esthetics, birth work, entrepreneurship, or simply enjoy hearing honest conversations about people's journeys, there’s something here for you.Tune in, get comfortable, and enjoy the conversation! If you enjoy this episode, be sure to LIKE, COMMENT, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE! 26 Jobs by 26...Then She Discovered Her Purpose | Luvina Leslie & The Curly Hair Salon
    2026/09/30
In this episode of the Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast, I had the opportunity to sit down with Luvina Leslie, owner of the Curly Hair Salon in New Haven, CT, for a conversation that was as inspiring as it was honest.Luvina takes us through the journey that ultimately led her to hair styling — a journey that included trying countless different careers and, as she shares in the episode, having 26 different jobs by the age of 26 before discovering the passion that would become her purpose. She opens up about taking the leap into entrepreneurship and the incredible circumstances surrounding the opening of her first salon. With very little outside support, Luvina relied heavily on her faith, her belief in God, and the commitment of her sister to help her get started. She even shares the remarkable story of how her first landlord went from asking for $15,000 to move into the space to offering her the furnished salon for just $5,000 — with the opportunity to pay in installments. But Luvina’s journey wasn't without its challenges. When her daughter was born with Down syndrome, Luvina made the difficult decision to close her first salon and completely reconfigure her life and schedule so she could give her daughter the time, love, and attention she deserved. Her story is a powerful reminder that sometimes purpose requires us to change direction — not give up.Throughout our conversation, Luvina makes one thing incredibly clear: money has never been and will never be her primary goal. Her goal has always been to wake up happy and excited to go to work. And for Luvina, that happiness comes from styling hair, connecting with people, creating opportunities, and doing what she loves. At the same time, she openly shares how grateful she is for the financial stability that entrepreneurship has provided — from being able to give to her church and help people in need, to providing her children with a great education and creating greater peace of mind for her family.Luvina also talks about the joys and responsibilities of owning her own salon, her deep appreciation for her employees — whom she considers family — and the importance of creating a workplace built on love, gratitude, and community. And she's not done yet.Luvina is preparing to open her second salon in Hartford, CT in October 2026, and her excitement about this next chapter is contagious. This conversation is a reminder that success doesn't always begin with money, connections, or a perfect plan. Sometimes it begins with faith, persistence, a willingness to keep searching, and the courage to pursue the thing that makes you come alive.Luvina is a born entrepreneur with a heart of gold, an infectious attitude, and a powerful story of purpose. Listen. Watch. Be inspired. And remember: Loving what you do is the key.If this episode resonates with you, LIKE, COMMENT, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE this channel with someone who needs a little inspiration.Follow Eddie Tranzcendent:Website - https://tranzcendentoutlook.com/Facebook Profile: https://www.facebook.com/eddie.t.martinez/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/EddieTranzcendent/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eddie_tranzcendent/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@eddie_tranzcendentLinked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/eddie-tranzcendent-martinez-1839b0170/X: @Eddie_TranzContact Luvena Leslie:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/luvena.leslieLinked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/luvena-leslie-043668252/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/luvenaleslie/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@redlipstickauntieThe Curly Hair Studio:Website: https://www.thecurlyhairsalon.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ctcurlyhairsalonLinked In: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-curly-hair-salon/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ctcurlyhairsalon/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thecurlyhairsalon

20+ Years of Community Impact: Eileen Lopez-Cordone’s Story | Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast
    2026/09/23
In this episode of the Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast, I sit down with Eileen Lopez-Cordone, President of the Greater Bridgeport Latino Network, for an inspiring conversation about leadership, service, family, and the power of community. As one of the organization’s cofounders more than 23 years ago, Eileen shares the story behind the Greater Bridgeport Latino Network — what sparked the idea, how she and her colleagues strategically connected with the people who helped bring the nonprofit to life, and how that vision has continued to evolve. We also talk about the organization’s longstanding partnership with the American Red Cross, which began more than two decades ago and has led to biannual blood drives at the McGivney Center for over 20 years. But Eileen’s commitment to community extends well beyond one organization. As Chair of the Bridgeport Public Education Fund, she discusses the importance of mentoring Bridgeport public high school students and helping prepare them for success in college, careers, and life.Eileen also opens up about something many community leaders and working parents can relate to: finding balance. As a wife and mother of two boys, she shares how she manages the demands of family, work, and community involvement — and why knowing when to say “no” can be just as important as knowing when to say “yes.”What stood out most to me is Eileen’s kind, thoughtful, caring, and generous outlook on life and service. Her commitment to helping others and strengthening her community is evident in everything she does.I’m grateful to Eileen for taking the time to join me for this conversation and for sharing her story, wisdom, and perspective on the Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast. If you enjoyed this conversation, like, subscribe, and share the Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast with someone who believes in the power of community and giving back.Follow Eddie Tranzcendent:Website - https://tranzcendentoutlook.com/Facebook Profile: https://www.facebook.com/eddie.t.martinez/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/EddieTranzcendent/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eddie_tranzcendent/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@eddie_tranzcendentLinked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/eddie-tranzcendent-martinez-1839b0170/X: @Eddie_TranzEileen Lopez-Cordone:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/eileen.lopez.cordoneLinked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/eileen-lopez-cordone-375a70ab/Greater Bridgeport Latino Network:Website: https://www.gbln.net/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/greaterbptlatinonetworkInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/gblnetwork/Linked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gbln2003/Bridgeport Public Education Fund:Website: https://bpef.org/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BPEFincInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/bpefinc/Linked In: https://www.linkedin.com/company/bpefinc/#TranzcendentOutlook #EileenLopezCordone #GreaterBridgeportLatinoNetwork #BridgeportCT #CommunityLeadership #NonprofitLeadership #CommunityService #LatinoLeadership #Bridgeport #Connecticut

  • The Unexpected Journey Behind K Starr Kollective | Karen Roach | Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast

The Unexpected Journey Behind K Starr Kollective | Karen Roach | Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast
    2026/09/18

On this episode of the Tranzcendent Outlook Podcast, I sat down with Karen Roach, founder of K Starr Kollective, to talk about the unexpected journey that led her to discovering her passion, her purpose, and ultimately, her own business.

Karen has always felt like life started early for her. She married young, became a mother young, purchased her first home young, and even thought she had figured out her career path early on. She pursued a degree in fashion design, but along the way, she began to realize that the traditional career path wasn't quite where she belonged.

Then, a simple introduction from a best friend to a nonprofit organization opened the door to something different.

Karen discovered that community, giving back, connecting people, and sharing resources were becoming a much bigger part of who she was and who she wanted to become. What began as an experience outside of her expected career path would ultimately help her recognize that she was being drawn toward something far more fulfilling.

Later, while working for a company that created a position specifically for her, Karen had the opportunity to truly explore her strengths and unearth the passion that had been there all along. That discovery became a turning point — and eventually, the foundation for K Starr Kollective, her event-curating business.

In this conversation, we talk about:

    - Finding purpose in unexpected places

    - Letting go of the career path you thought you wanted

    - The power of community and giving back

    - Recognizing the gifts and passions that are already within you

    - Creating opportunities instead of waiting for them

    - Turning your purpose into a business

    - The journey behind building K Starr Kollective

Karen's story is a reminder that sometimes our path doesn't become clear all at once. Sometimes, it's revealed through the people we meet, the experiences we have, and the moments when we finally recognize what has been calling us all along.

If you're navigating your own career transition, considering entrepreneurship, or simply trying to understand what you're meant to do next, this conversation is for you.

Watch, listen, and share your Tranzcendent Outlook in the comments.
