  • 033: How Mira Binzen Helps Sensitive Entrepreneurs Thrive
    2025/05/08

    Embracing Your Sensitivity

For many entrepreneurs, especially women navigating midlife, success has long been tied to hustle. The early mornings, the late nights, the constant drive to “push through.” But what if the key to sustainable success isn’t about doing more, but about honoring who you are?

Mira Binzen believes that’s exactly the shift we need. As a wellness expert who bridges business with mindfulness, she offers a fresh perspective for entrepreneurs who identify as highly sensitive.

    Your Sensitivity Isn’t a Flaw. It’s Fuel.

Highly sensitive people (HSPs) process information more deeply, feel emotions more intensely, and are highly aware of their environment. While these traits are often misunderstood in traditional business culture, they are actually strengths—especially in leadership and entrepreneurship.

When sensitivity is embraced rather than resisted, it becomes a powerful lens for creativity, empathy, and innovation.

    More about Mira Binzen

Mira Binzen helps highly sensitive women in their 50s and 60s ditch corporate life and build businesses that feel good—aligned, fulfilling, and totally sustainable .After 30 years of running her own businesses (without the burnout), she knows that most business advice wasn’t designed for deep-feeling, intuitive women. That’s why she blends holistic strategy, mindset shifts, and nervous system-friendly business design to help her clients create income without the hustle hangover. She’s also a yoga therapist, holistic lifestyle consultant, and author of Anxious to Awesome: A Practical Guide for the Whole Family. When she’s not guiding solopreneurs, you’ll find her out in nature, curled up with a book, or taking a really good nap .Mira believes that your business should support your well-being—not the other way around. If you’re ready to build something meaningful on your own terms, she’s here to help.

  • 032: Mastering the Art of Words: Insights from Editor and Author Connie Anderson
    2025/04/23

Connie Anderson is no stranger to the world of words. With years of experience as an editor and author, she has worked on a wide range of books, helping writers refine their stories and make their words shine. She is also the co-founder of WoW Women of Words, a thriving writing group since 1994. In a recent conversation, Connie shared her expertise and invaluable advice for aspiring writers and editors.

Connie has an eye for language and a deep appreciation for wordplay. She emphasized how the right words can elevate a reading experience and recalled a personal moment of embarrassment when she encountered unfamiliar words in a book. Her takeaway? Words matter, and choosing them wisely can transform a manuscript from good to great.

Writing a book is a journey of passion, creativity, and meticulous refinement. Behind every compelling manuscript is the critical work of professional editing, a process that transforms raw ideas into polished narratives.

    More about Connie Anderson

Connie Anderson is an editor, writer, and writing group leader. She edits both non-fiction and general fiction books, and considers herself an important part of the author’s team to create the best book possible. She combines her attention to detail with the ability to edit from the reader’s
point of view, always asking the “hard” questions. She also works to protect the author from making the wrong and often-expensive decisions during the entire writing and publishing process, helping the author find the right resources for them.

In 1994, Connie co-founded still-thriving WOW—Women of Words—for writers in different phases of their book. She has also written several books, like “In My Next Life, I Want to be My Dog.” She collected stories from people whose life was changed by polio, “When Polio Came Home: How Ordinary People Overcame Extraordinary Challenges.” Then “Man Overboard: Hubby’s Getting a New Boat,” and “The ‘I’ of a Woman.” In 2023, she launched her newest, a memoir/historical story of an English lad’s life, “Faces of Boys, Hearts of Men.”

  • 030: The Transformative Power of Cold-Water Dipping: A Conversation with Steve Jewel
    2025/03/01
Cold-water dipping—also known as cold plunging or ice bathing—has been gaining traction for its incredible physical and mental health benefits. But for me, it’s more than just a wellness trend. It’s an activity that holds a special place in my heart. As a busy entrepreneur, it has become a form of therapy, helping me reset, refocus, and build resilience in ways I never expected. One of my favorite parts of this practice? The community. At the Harriet Magic Hole in Minneapolis, I’ve met some amazing fellow dippers, including Steve Jewel, who has taken this practice to a whole new level. With over 600 dips under his belt, Steve has turned cold-water immersion into a daily ritual. I invited him to share his insights into why stepping into discomfort—whether in business or the freezing Minnesota waters—can be truly transformative. It’s changed my life. Just like entrepreneurship, cold-water dipping is a test of resilience, focus, and energy—qualities that every business owner needs. Steve’s journey started in 2020 after a neighbor’s suggestion, and since then, he’s discovered just how much this practice strengthens not only the body but also the mind.Find Steve on LinkedInWith over 30 years of progressive recruiting and human resources experience, Steve has seen it all—yes, even the candidate who brought their pet bird(or parents) to their interview. From commissioned to executive and technical recruitment, he has navigated the evolution of talent acquisition and tackled the ever-shifting challenges of this people-driven profession. More about SteveSteve has had the privilege (and bureaucratic challenges) of working with Fortune 500 corporations like US Bank, Wells Fargo, Medtronic, GE Capital, and American Express Financial Services. His leadership and management experience with Fortune 100 companies—including Unisys, PepsiCo (Frito Lay), The Disney Stores, and Macy’s (Dayton Hudson Corp)—taught him that success often lies in balancing big goals with even bigger patience. Over his career, he has placed more than 1,000 people in roles across Minnesota and the country, proving that even if I can’t always find my car keys, I can definitely find the right talent.Outside of the paycheck, Steve has spent 15 years attending/volunteering and documenting events at The CEDAR Cultural Center, nurturing his passion for world music, creativity and connection (and occasionally indulging in an adult beverage or two from the concession stand). He joined their board in 2023. This love of exploration fuels his ability to spot trends and engage meaningfully with others, both personally and professionally.A continuous learner at heart, Steve believes standing still is going backward. He thrives on creating impactful opportunities, driving results, and building relationships—preferably with people who can laugh along the way. After all, life’s too short for boring conversations and bad coffee. And oh, he likes to dip in Lake Harriet… every day… in 34 degree water. He has been doing so since 2020 and is well over 600 visits of 10 minutes.Resources & References from This Episode:💡 Cindra Kamphoff💡 Bus Stop Mammas📽 Benefits of Cold Exposure, Shivering &Brown Fat | Dr. Susanna Soberg & Dr. Andrew Huberman📽 Wim Hoff Breathing technique(daily practice)📽 Brown Fat Benefits Welcome to Time For You Evolved For the Female EntrepreneurTHANK YOU TIME FOR YOU EVOLVED PARTNERS🎥Unlock Your Video Potential with BigVuCreate professional videos effortlessly and elevate your content game.📈 Grow Your Business with ActiveCampaignStart your free trial today and unlock powerful marketing automation tools for growth!💧Skincare Made Easy with Droplette Take the first step towards healthier skin by getting your free skincare assessment now!
