  • my breast lump
    2023/08/30

a few months ago i found a lump in my left breast. it's been a frustrating process, to say the least. i'm sure it's fine, but docs haven't been able to give me an answer with 100% cerntainty, and i'm not sure how to resolve that! nobody likes uncertainty, so why is it so hard to figure this out?! in this episode i talk about what the journey of ultrasounds and second and even third opinions has been like. i'm definitely not a doctor, nor am i very knowledgable about breast cancer and breast lumps -- this is just my personal experience. this is also your reminder to give yourself a self-examination every now and then if it pertains to you!

    "barbie" movie spoliers ahead!!

today we're talking barbie: the doll that once took the world by storm is making a comeback in popular culture thanks to the new "barbie" movie featuring margot robbie and directed by greta gerwig. a commentary on the patriarchy told through characters we're already familiar with, viewers responses have fallen all across the spectrum between love and hate. to some, it was life changing. to others, it fell flat. and for me—a proud feminist who shows her period blood on tiktok? well, i had some thoughts...

  • the problem with "imposter syndrome"
    2023/05/04

i recently witnessed ocean vuong, the iconic poet, accept an award at a gala i recently attended, in which he completely upended the way i have understood this phenomenon of "imposter syndrome." his words have been at the forefront of my mind the last week, and have felt like a catalyst to a major breakthrough i'm facing about how i understand self-worth and practice self-affection.

  • i think i'm ageist...
    2023/04/10

i recently sat on a panel with ashton applewhite, the first "ageism activist" i've ever met. hearing her talk about how we're all conditioned to be ageist, and how ageism and ableism go hand in hand, was super eye-opening and thought provoking -- and i'm just going to be blunt about *all* the reflections i've been having about aging, age, and ageism. would love to know what you think!!
