Love Never Paws’s

Cathy just lost her good dog, Cabi yesterday. Our dogs are family members and enhance our lives. They are our companions everyday. They do communicate to us when it is time to let them pass. It’s our last gift we give them. It is important to stay attuned to our own body and wisdom and trust those very important decisions in all different aspects of our lives. Connectivity-The Web of Life

This morning Jess and Cathy are sitting around the kitchen table together. Jess talked about being with family over the weekend, celebrating her Aunt Helen. Cathy taught at the International Pony Club Festival the previous weekend. All throughout our lives, with family, with our work, with our hobbies, we make life-long connections. Generosity-Makes Life Rich

Jess and Cathy talk today about what it’s like to share. Sharing knowledge, sharing skills. Jess talks about sharing her horse Speedy this weekend with Kennedy for a clinic she was riding in. She said, it was a “triple win”. A “win” for herself to watch Kennedy and Speedy, a “win” for Kennedy to participate and learn, and ride a different horse than her own, and a “win” for Speedy to be in the clinic and have his own experience with it. Cathy shared how she loves to teach everything she has learned—how easy and purposeful it is to give that to her students. We get back so much by giving what we have, whether it be knowledge, skills, the farm, or our horse! Think about how it makes your life so rich the way you are generous! Celebrating Connection—Conviviality!

Jess and Cathy talk about how rich it is to be involved with others,—having the connection to other peoples stories. It is so fun to be able to celebrate the successes of others! Jess did a cooking class with Quita Michel. Ouita mentioned often the good things that food brings to people and used the term ‘conviviality’. Ouita said that she feels that conviviality is “joy”, it is good conversation, a sharing around, connection It is her whole purpose in the work she does. Having the Right Tools in the Toolbox!

Jess and Cathy continue talking about fear, and what can help us move out of it. It is important to educate yourself and get as much information and skills that you can. They are great tools in your toolbox to help you overcome fear. You get to move into the fear, and the more you take those steps, the easier it is to cast off the lines and move off the dock in Jess’s metaphor, or in Cathy’s metaphor it becomes easier to jump the jumps! It’s All Good The Power of Positivity!

Jess and Cathy talk about how important it is to look at the bright side of things—the glass is half full versus half empty. Cathy is known for saying, “It’s all good”—in her conversations. She thinks it’s from the “Life is Good” theme t-shirts. Even if something goes wrong, it can turn out good, there is a remedy or solution. They give lots of examples how that kind of attitude spreads out to the people around them. We get smiles back when we give someone our smile. Jess reads someones name tag and calls them by name like she knows them. Everyone deserves to be seen!

FEAR-Face Everything and Rise

A listener requested we talk about fear. We feel this when we think something bad is going to, or might happen. Jess talks about where that that fear lives in our brain—in the Limbic region. It does not speak a language there—it messages us with images or sensations. Our brain wants a story and sometimes it confabulates something that could be false. We can change and re-write that story so we don’t get triggered. Cathy talks about fear and how it can get in the way of the rider. She wants to know if there is fear and then it can be talked about. Preparation in our riding and in other things in our life can help us not let the fear take hold and control what we want to do, or how we want to live!
