  • What If Happiness Is The Wrong Measure
    2026/08/17

Your marriage has a scoreboard, whether you meant to build one or not. We call it the “happiometer” and it’s the hidden gauge that decides if we feel satisfied, irritated, rejected, or “owed” something. When that meter runs our home, we chase quick relief and call it success, even when it pulls us away from God and away from each other.

We zoom in on a thread running through the parables of Jesus: a master offers something worth having, and the listener measures it against their own desires. In Luke 14, the great banquet exposes how easily we trade a life-giving invitation for flimsy distractions. That leads to a simple but uncomfortable marriage question: do you actually know where your spouse is spiritually today, and can you tell their salvation story without guessing? We talk about asking caring questions, having God’s heart for your spouse, and living like the servant who keeps making room at the table.

Then we move to stewardship in Matthew 25 and the talents. Fear buries what God entrusts, but faithfulness multiplies it, including the way we give love without strings attached. Finally, Matthew 20 confronts our obsession with fairness through the workers in the vineyard, reminding us that forgiveness and grace in a Christian marriage flow from God’s generosity, not our deserving.

If you’re searching for biblical marriage help, Christian marriage encouragement, and practical ways to measure success differently, listen through and share it with a couple who needs hope. Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what your happiometer has been chasing lately.

  • What If Your Marriage Needs Obedience First?
    2026/08/10

You can feel it when a marriage reaches that point where you’d do almost anything for a breakthrough. Not the slow kind that takes humility and consistency, but the instant kind. The Miracle Max fix. David and Tracy Sellers start there and get painfully honest about how easy it is to medicate the symptoms of a struggling relationship while avoiding the path that actually leads to marriage healing. If you’ve been living with tension, silence, resentment, or repeating conflict, this conversation aims straight at the heart of it.

We anchor the message in Scripture and in the “miracles of Jesus for your marriage” theme from our Bible for Marriage series. From Jesus’ question at the pool of Bethesda, “Do you want to be made whole?”, to the feeding of the five thousand, the miraculous catch of fish, the raising of a widow’s son, and the healing of a man born blind, one pattern keeps showing up: God brings the power, and our faith and obedience open the channel. We talk about excuses, comfort zones, and the difference between chasing circumstantial change and seeking lasting restoration through God’s Word.

Along the way, we connect everyday stories to biblical truth, including what a tiny motion sickness pill can reveal about our craving for quick relief, and why some people stop three feet short of the help they asked for. If you’re looking for Christian marriage advice, biblical counseling clarity, and hope for marriage restoration that doesn’t depend on hype, you’ll find practical direction here.

  • Your Marriage Grows What Your Hearts Receive
    2026/08/03

What if the biggest issue in your marriage isn’t the latest argument, but the soil underneath it? We’re David and Tracy Sellers, and we take Jesus’ Parable of the Sower in Mark 4 and apply it straight to real-life marriage: the unseen heart posture and relationship culture that decides whether God’s Word gets stolen, withers under stress, gets choked by thorns, or grows into a harvest.

We talk about what “marriage soil” looks like on a normal Tuesday: how you can often tell the condition of the ground by the fruit coming out of your home, your tone, your patience, and your ability to reconnect. We also name the rocks and weeds that block growth independence, dishonesty, bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, disunity and the quieter thorns of worries, wealth pressure, and the constant pull of “other things” that steal attention from your spouse.

Then we get practical with five steps to cultivate good soil with the Holy Spirit’s help: get your heart ready, let the seed of Scripture be planted daily, water those seeds by rooting yourself in God’s steady supply, stay in the light with honesty before the Lord, and dig out the weeds and rocks of sin before they choke what’s tender. We even imagine what a 30x, 60x, 100x harvest of peace, gentleness, and love could look like in an ordinary household.

If you want a biblically healthy marriage with deeper roots and lasting fruit, press play, share this with a friend who needs hope, and subscribe for more. After you listen, leave a review and tell us: which “soil” best describes your marriage right now?

  • Trusting The Good Shepherd Changes Everything
    2026/07/27

One sentence can change the way you see your marriage: “I am.” When Jesus uses those words, He isn’t offering a motivational slogan, He’s revealing who He is and what your relationship truly needs to survive and grow. We start with John 10 and Jesus’s claim to be the door, the only gate into salvation and the only path into the kind of abundant life that touches Monday morning, not just eternity. We also name the loud, convincing voices that promise relief but lead to dead ends, and we get honest about the “trades” that quietly drain marriages, like pornography, emotional escape, secret spending, and the habit of self providing outside the safety of God’s design.

Then we move to “I am the good shepherd” and ask a hard question: what does trust look like in real decisions? We talk about control, distance, separate plans, and the insecurity that keeps spouses at arm’s length. We also share why bringing hidden things into the light isn’t about shame, it’s about healing, and how God intends husbands and wives to be allies in sanctification instead of lone fighters against temptation.

Finally, we connect “I am the resurrection and the life” to the gospel’s transforming power through Romans 6 and Romans 8. The same Spirit who raised Jesus lives in believers, giving strength to say no to sin and yes to righteousness, and John 15 reminds us that fruit comes from staying attached to the vine. If you want a stronger Christian marriage built on Scripture, trust, and real intimacy, press play, then subscribe, share this with a couple who needs hope, and leave a review so more families can find it.

  • Bread Of Life For A Hungry Marriage
    2026/07/20

Your marriage can look “fine” on the outside while quietly starving on the inside. We’ve been there, and that’s why we slow down and apply three of Jesus’ powerful I am statements from the Gospel of John to real married life, not theory. Using a simple lens, we break each statement into four parts: an invitation, an action, a promise, and a warning. It’s a practical way to read the Bible for marriage and actually know what obedience looks like on a Tuesday afternoon.

We start with Jesus saying, “I am the bread of life” (John 6:35) and talk about spiritual nourishment, daily prayer, and why “once-a-week” faith can’t sustain a Christian marriage. When we chase quick fixes to satisfy our hunger or thirst, we may get a temporary hit of relief, but we lose our appetite for what truly feeds us. Then we move to “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12) and get honest about how darkness shows up through sin, bitterness, and self-made rules, and how following Jesus means choosing love in specific, costly ways.

We close with “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6) and the reminder we all need: the greatest gift in your marriage isn’t just the good things you can name, it’s the presence of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. If your relationship needs direction, a stable foundation, or new life, he’s not one option among many, he’s the source. Subscribe, share this with a couple you care about, and leave a review so more marriages can find steady help from God’s Word.

  • The Xbox Fight That Flatlined A Marriage
    2026/07/13

A marriage can be legally intact and still be dying. We start with that uncomfortable reality and then work through Exodus 20 to name the habits that quietly drain a relationship of friendship, passion, and trust, one small choice at a time. From an Uber story about a marriage that ended up on life support to the “final cut” moments couples never saw coming, we get honest about how conflict, sarcasm, stonewalling, and selfish priorities can function like slow-motion murder.

Then we talk about adultery the way Jesus does in Matthew 5, not as a technical line you cross, but as a heart-level break in covenant. We address pornography, lust, and emotional affairs, and we also share real hope we’ve seen through counseling when God redeems what looks like a deal breaker. We get practical about boundaries and accountability, especially in a social media age where private messages and old relationships can quietly reopen doors that should stay shut.

We move into “do not steal” as an entitlement mindset in marriage, where spouses start keeping score with money, time, and responsibilities. From there, “do not bear false witness” becomes a warning about the stories we tell about our spouse to friends and even to ourselves, plus three common lies that unhappy couples believe. We close with the tenth commandment and the poison of comparison, then offer the antidote: trusting God’s provision and practicing gratitude, all summed up in the Great Commandment to love God and love your nearest neighbor, starting at home.

  • Put Down The Phone And Take A Holy Nap
    2026/07/06

Most of us don’t struggle because we’ve never heard God’s commands. We struggle because we try to live them with the wrong fuel. We’re David and Tracy Sellers, and we’re digging into the Ten Commandments for marriage with a focus on the one command Jesus says sits above them all: love the Lord your God with everything you are, and love your neighbor as yourself. When that becomes the center, the commandments stop feeling like a cold rulebook and start functioning like guardrails that lead to real freedom, peace, and closeness.

We also get honest about the inner war Paul describes in Romans 7, and why Galatians makes it clear that law keeping cannot make anyone right with God. The law exposes sin and points us to our need for Jesus Christ, while faith brings the power to obey from the heart. That’s not abstract theology. It’s marriage help for the couple who feels stuck in cycles of guilt, striving, or spiritual burnout and needs a better way forward.

From there, we apply two commandments directly to everyday family life. First, we talk about Sabbath as God’s gift of rest, worship, and unity. We challenge the nonstop schedule, the screen-based “rest” that never restores, and the idea that good things should crowd out the best things. Then we unpack honoring father and mother, including what it can look like when you’ve been hurt, how to set wise boundaries through leaving and cleaving, and how honoring parents can bless your marriage and model godliness for your kids.

If you want a stronger Christian marriage grounded in Scripture, take this with you, share it with your spouse, and let us know what part you’re going to put into practice. Subscribe, share this broadcast with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review so more couples can find biblical marriage support.

  • The Ten Commandments Through A Marriage Lens
    2026/06/29

The fastest way to find what you worship is to look at what gets your attention when life feels tight. David and Tracy Sellers start with a simple sense of wonder about the universe, then bring it home: the same God who designed the cosmos also designed marriage, and His plan is not limited to your past or your honeymoon memories. If you’ve ever felt like God’s “rules” are heavy, we challenge that assumption with a different lens: His commandments are meant to protect, free, and realign our hearts.

We connect the Great Commandment to the real world of marriage, where loving your “nearest neighbor” can be the hardest assignment of the week. Why is it easier to be kind at church than to be gentle under your own roof after disappointment, conflict, or betrayal? From there, we walk through the first three of the Ten Commandments with practical marriage application: putting God first instead of keeping Him on speed dial, recognizing modern idols like comfort, success, consumerism, and control, and seeing how idolatry quietly reshapes priorities, time, and intimacy.

We also unpack “do not take the Lord’s name in vain” as far more than avoiding a phrase. Our words, our tone, and the way we talk about our spouse can either strengthen our witness or sabotage it. With James 3 as a warning about the tongue, we point to a better starting place: asking God to change the heart so the mouth follows. If you want a biblically healthy marriage built on trust, obedience, and grace, this is a grounded next step. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review so more couples can find it.
