The Visible Firm is a weekly podcast for professionals who are ready to stop being the best kept secret in their industry.

If you're a lawyer, accountant, financial planner or allied health practitioner who is exceptional at what you do but invisible online - this is for you.

Each episode is 10 to 15 minutes. Practical, direct, no fluff. We cover content strategy, SEO, podcasting, AI and everything else that goes into building a digital presence that actually works for a professional services firm.

Hosted by Nathan Gielis, founder of ngcreative - a digital content, SEO, podcasting and AI education studio based in South East Queensland with 25 years experience in building things properly online.

Our reviews are excellent, so we're fine online. It is the most common thing law firm principals say about being found, and half of it is true while the other half is quietly costing them clients they never hear about. This episode covers what reviews do brilliantly, the one thing they mechanically cannot do, the two minute test that shows you which layer your firm is missing, and why the gap is widening rather than closing as AI answers arrive.

    WHAT WE COVER

    - Why reviews win at the moment of decision, and where they legitimately help rankings

    - Why they cannot rank you for the searches clients actually run

    - The two search test, and what the contrast tells you

    - Why the blog you tried once did not work

    - How published content and reviews feed each other

    WHAT TO DO THIS WEEK

Run the two search test, screenshot both, and publish the answer to the question where you were most absent.

  • 10: The Phone Call That Never Happened
    2026/08/05

Somebody recommended your firm at a barbecue on Saturday and meant it, and she still hasn't rung you. What happened in between is a check that almost every referred client now makes before they contact a law firm, and it either confirms everything they were told about you or quietly fails to, and either way you never find out it happened.

This episode is about the checkpoint sitting in the middle of every referral you will ever receive, why the loss leaves no trace anywhere in your practice, and what a presence that closes a referral actually looks like.

    What we cover

    • The phone call that never happened, and why it is invisible from inside the firm
    • Why referrals and online visibility stopped being separate channels years ago
    • The two versions of that Sunday night, and the difference between them
    • The generation who never enter your referral pipeline at all
    • Concentration risk, and the analysis you would run for a client but never for yourself
    • Why referral networks erode by default while published content compounds

    What to do this week

Open a browser you are not signed into and look yourself up the way that friend from the barbecue would. Your firm's name, then your own name, then family lawyer plus your suburb. Ask one question of what you see, which is whether it confirms what she was just told about you.

  • 09: Five Gaps, One Pattern
    2026/07/29

Review enough law firm websites in a short space of time and something strange happens. You stop taking individual notes, because you're writing the same five things every time.

This episode walks all five gaps: unanswered client questions, an untended Google profile, a faceless firm, a frozen clock, and a presence that fails to confirm the firm's real reputation. Then the harder question: why they survive in smart, well-run practices, and why nobody inside the firm can see them.

    WHAT WE COVER:

    • The five gaps that appear in almost every law firm
    • Why they're invisible from the inside, and obvious from the outside
    • Why not one of them is about being a better lawyer
    • The order of attack, fastest wins first
    • What a firm looks like twelve months after closing all five

    WHAT TO DO THIS WEEK:

The wince test. Open your own website and Google profile and read the list against them. One gap will make you wince harder than the others. That's your starting point, because it's the gap you already suspected.
