  • The Lion, the Impala, and Enoughness
    2026/09/14

What can the natural world teach us when we stop trying to make it a metaphor—and simply pay attention?

This episode begins beneath my oak tree, Wallace, and travels with me back to the South African bush, where a lion resting in the middle of the road and the watchful impala nearby stirred a deeper contemplation about safety, healing, privilege, and the nervous system.

Maybe peace isn’t always evidence that we’ve healed, and vigilance isn’t always evidence that we haven’t. Our circumstances matter. Our histories matter. And so does the inner work that helps us recognize when the danger has passed.

From there, I find myself questioning something even larger: What is abundance, and who taught us how to measure it?

Perhaps the wisdom isn’t in choosing the lion over the impala, comfort over simplicity, or one way of living over another. Perhaps it is learning to recognize what each has to teach us—and becoming conscious of the “herds” that have shaped what we believe safety, wealth, and enoughness are supposed to look like.

A conversation about grief, nature, nervous systems, inherited definitions of abundance, and the forms of wealth that cannot be accumulated—only experienced.

Because everything contains wisdom when we are present enough to listen.

  • Nice to Meet You Again
    2026/09/03

After a few months away from the microphone, I’m back—but not quite where I left off.

This episode is less of a summer recap and more of a reintroduction. Life has shifted, new ideas have found me, old ideas are being stretched, and I’m discovering that sometimes the most meaningful seasons of becoming happen when we stop trying so hard to produce something from them.

I’m sharing a little of where I find myself now and opening the door to what we’ll be exploring in the episodes ahead: process thought and a God who may be much more participatory than we imagine, motherhood and changing seasons, my return to school, the movement of The Living Gospel of Magdalene toward publication, and the questions about remembrance, possibility, and becoming that are reshaping the way I see almost everything.

I don’t know exactly where these conversations will take us—or even whether they’ll arrive neatly every week. That feels strangely appropriate.

Because this season isn’t about presenting what I’ve figured out. It’s about sharing what I’m encountering.

    Nice to meet you again.

  • Relationships that Outlast Mistakes
    2026/06/04

A missed deadline. A difficult conversation. A mistake you wish hadn't happened.

Most of us spend our energy focused on the immediate problem. But what if the real question isn't how to solve the problem—it's how to protect the relationship while moving through it?

In this episode of The Remembrance Codes, I explore a recent experience that challenged me to look beyond the content of a situation and focus on the container holding it. We talk about emotional safety, accountability without shame, trust, parenting, marriage, leadership, and why the strongest relationships are often not the ones that avoid mistakes—but the ones that learn how to move through them together.

If you've ever struggled with conflict, disappointment, communication, or the desire to be understood, this conversation offers a different lens:

What if the relationship matters more than the moment?

    Topics explored:
    • Relationships that outlast mistakes
    • Trust and emotional safety
    • Accountability without shame
    • Parenting and guidance
    • Marriage and communication
    • Leadership and psychological safety
    • Building stronger connections through difficult moments
