    The 9 Tasks List

    • Separate emotionally from the family you grew up with so you can fully invest in the marriage you’re building and also redefine the connection with both families of origin (merging two families together)

    • Build togetherness while creating space for autonomy

    • Embrace the daunting roles of parenting while protecting your privacy

    • Confront and master the inevitable crises of life, while keeping a strong bond in the midst of adversity

    • To create a safe space for expressions of differences, anger, and conflict

    • Establish a rich and pleasurable sex life and protect it from the busyness of everyday life and obligations

    • Use laughter and humor to keep things in perspective and avoid boredom aka have fun together

    • To provide nurturance and comfort to each other, satisfying each partner’s needs for dependency and offering continuing encouragement and support.

    • Keep alive the early romantic memories of falling in love while facing the sober realities of how things have changed over the years
