  • Episode #19: Claire Cunneen on Chair Yoga VS Mat Yoga
    2020/11/02

    Key Takeaways:

    • Will people get the same benefits you get from mat yoga in chair yoga?
    • The pose is not what yoga is all about.
    • The easiest way to look at chair yoga is the chair brings the floor to the student.
    • In chair yoga, the chair is part of the body, it becomes an extension of you.
    • Yoga is not just exercise. It is about seeing the growth in people.
    • The postures are good pathways to be with you - to feel present.
    • The Hoola Hoop Analogy  - ask CaAtherine about it.
    • In chair yoga, I have more opportunity to be comfortable being with me.
    •  As yoga teachers, the biggest gift we can give someone is to guide and support them on whatever they need   in order for them to do healing.
    • We can’t heal anyone, people have to do that for themselves.
    • Getting back to yourself is healing.

    Yoga is for every-BODY!

  • Episode #15: Self Perception from a Plus-Sized Woman
    2020/09/21

How often do you judge yourself or others?   Each and everyone of us do it.  Especially when it comes to judging our plus sized bodies.

In today's episode I share with you self perception as a plus sized woman.

    • Historically, plus-sized bodies have been around for a long time.
    • Women were deemed big and strong -  the equal of men.
    • Love yourself, curves and all!
    • Create the happiness from within.
    • My self-perception has to be healthier and happier.
    • The perception of self is affected by those of us who have been fat-shamed.
