• Why Cohabitation Isn’t God’s Best: Leaving, Cleaving, and Honoring Marriage (Matthew 19:3–6)
    2026/09/07

Send us a text with your questions or ideas for a future episode!

In this Mentoring Christian Men Worldwide episode, Tim and Christian discuss why living with a significant other before marriage is not God’s best. They talk about common reasons that most people give for making this choice and how the Bible addresses these reasons.

Using Matthew 19:3–6, they emphasize God’s design of “leaving and cleaving” in covenant marriage, not cohabitation, and argue cohabitation promotes selfishness and lack of commitment while marriage provides a moral framework and spiritual refinement.

Tim also cites current scientific studies that suggest that marital success increases when couples wait to cohabit until marriage.

Overall, men and women can benefit from listening to this episode, especially if they are considering cohabitation or helping others who are considering it yet want to experience God's best for their lives and marriages.

  • Why Can’t I Have Sex as a Single Person? God’s Design for Purity, Marriage, and Obedience
    2026/08/31

Send us a text with your questions or ideas for a future episode!

In this episode, Tim and Christian discuss why Christians should not have sex outside marriage, reframing the question from “why can’t I” to “should I” based on God’s Word.

They explain biblical commands and principles about avoiding sexual immorality, using 1 Corinthians 6:13 to emphasize that bodies are made for the Lord, not immorality, and add historical Jewish marriage context to show sex as covenant consummation.

They address modern pressures, encouraging men to pursue obedience and stewardship of the body rather than merely “resisting temptation,” citing David and Samson as warnings about consequences.

They stress identity (serving and protecting), self-control as fruit of the Spirit, and that purity is possible through Christ.

The stories of “Bob” and “Bill” illustrate the physical, emotional, and spiritual costs of immorality and God’s power to restore through repentance, Scripture, accountability, and community.

  • Why Can’t I Be the Cool Christian? Choosing Faithfulness Over Blending In
    2026/08/24

Send us a text with your questions or ideas for a future episode!

Tim and Christian open episode four of season three of Mentoring Christian Men Worldwide (the “Why Can’t I?” series) to address why Christians can’t live with “one foot in the world and one foot with Jesus” while still expecting a deep relationship with Him.

Basing their conversation in John 15:18–19, they explain that following Christ makes believers counter-cultural and often disliked, but the goal is faithfulness, not being seen as cool.

They also discuss the desire for acceptance, the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and how God’s standards lead to a better reward and peace. Tim shares a street-ministry story where he refused to enter a strip club to seem relevant, and Christian shares an example of a man setting a boundary to quit drinking for his marriage, witness, and well-being, emphasizing that standing firm doesn’t require being rude.

  • Why Can’t I Love God and Still Live My Own Life? From Permission to Submission
    2026/08/17

Send us a text with your questions or ideas for a future episode!

In this episode of Mentoring Christian Men Worldwide, Christian and Tim discuss the question, “Why can’t I just love God and still live my own life?” focusing on the tension many new believers feel trying to keep one foot in the world while following Jesus.

They explain that the Holy Spirit brings conviction, making sin feel wrong and less satisfying, and they challenge men to shift from asking “Why can’t I?” (permission) to “Should I?” (wisdom and honor toward God).

Using Scripture, they emphasize obedience and submission as a response to Christ’s sacrifice, not weakness or joylessness. Tim shares a mentoring story of “Bill,” whose full commitment brought peace and life improvements, while Christian shares “Bob,” who resisted change, highlighting that each person must choose whom they will submit to.

  • Why Can’t I Live My Own Truth? Objective Truth, Jesus, and the Better Way
    2026/08/10

Send us a text with your questions or ideas for a future episode!

Tim and Christian launch the “Why Can’t I” series by addressing “Why can’t I live my own truth?”

They argue that truth is objective, not personal, and that “living your own truth” is really living your own way, which often leads to emptiness, unresolved guilt, and chaos.

Using John 17:17 and Jesus’ claim to be “the truth,” they say God’s Word sanctifies, brings order and stability to life and society, and “works” across relationships, character, and purpose.

They also discuss doubts created by hypocrisy and church hurt, warning against false teachers while insisting Jesus should not be judged by imperfect followers. They emphasize creation and moral conscience as signs of a Creator, encourage apologetics and personal investigation, and close by calling listeners to follow Jesus as the only way to God.
